Hold back on 09 G37s to give G35s more time to sell for a reasonable price by njalan

mosho, your comments are not without merit. I am in a dilemma situation: I want to buy the G35x at the lowest price possible but I don't like the price to fall after buying it. I have to be honest that the G35s are very good buys now comparing to the 09 G37s. Your info appears to be correct because my dealership has exactly one 09 G37x.

I was quoted yesterday $39500 plus TTL for the 09 G37x (black with premium & navi packages). The MSRP is $41015, invoice $37698 & TMV $40818. After taking the $1000 cash incentive off, this car sells for $318 below TMV but $1802 above invoice. That is over $7200 more than the 08 G35x with the same options. I cannot justify paying this kind of money for the 09 G37x while the 08 G35x is still available.

Infiniti appears to be determined to hold back the 09 G37s as long as possible to allow the 08 G35s/G37s leaving the dealership lots without giving them away. I hope they succeed although I am still looking for a bargain. I am skeptical that the G35x with prem, navi, wood & splash guards can be had for $31795 plus TTL as quoted by one posting. I am still awaiting for the response to see which dealership in NY is offering this deal.

Invoice padding is not new and it will go on as long as there are dealerships selling cars. For one thing, the Edmunds invoice may not include advertising cost but the dealership almost always adds it to the invoice for the potential buyers to see. For another, the doc fee differs from dealership to dealership. The bottom line is that they want to make an extra dollar on the sell while we consumers try to save one more dollar on the purchase. I saw one prior posting saying the deal was $1000 apart when he walked out. Knowing that cars are almost selling at rock bottom price now, I would not have the gall to utter $1000 below what is the final offer by the dealer. On the other hand, I admire that gentleman for standing firm.

Thanks for allowing me to share my thoughts with all of you.

p.s. What is a super deal? You know you got a really good deal when you were told that after you drove the new car from the dealership and the people in the dealership started cursing you.

high G35x quotes by chewy734

Well, today I got two quotes from my local Infiniti dealer:

2008 G35x, Premium package for $33,080+TTL
2008 G35x, Premium and Navigation packages for $35,230+TTL

Those seem kind of high considering the dealer had about 40 of the G35x's on their lot. Any suggestions on how to negotiate a better/fair price? How low can I go?

Hah...I thought you were looking for an '08 Acura TL? As a matter of fact, I just replied to you about '08 TL pricing....seems like we both are kinda in the same boat: I am looking for a "killer" deal on either an '08 TL w/ Navi or '08 G35x w/ Premium + Navi. This being said, I think the prices you are quoted, are somewhat high...I would look in the ballpark of $32--33k for 08 G35x w/ Premium + Navi...

On a different note..would you mind PMing me about what factors you are considering for a G35 vs. TL? Thanks!

Texas Lease - 2008 G35 RWD by cadenhead

Hello all. I have never leased a vehicle and I am a little apprehensive. But in order for me to drive a really nice car for a monthly payment that fits under my budget, I'm willing to give it a try. I'm specifically looking for a G35 Journey with Premium, Sport, and Navigation packages. The MSRP on this model is $39,815 and the invoice (including dest. of $815) is $36,321. I'd like to lease for 36 months and 15K miles a year but would be willing to go to 39 months and down to 12K miles a year if I could get my payments below $500/mo. on this vehicle. I was told today by two dealers that the residual was 51% for 15K miles and 39 months. I believe the MF equated to 1.49% APR. Also, both said Infiniti is waiving sales tax in Texas on leases which equates to 6.25%.

Can you guys give me a ballpark estimate of what I should try and get my monthly payments to for this configuration while paying no money down save for first months payment and title/license? Also, if you have any insight as to dealerships in Texas that are making great lease deals, please do tell. I live in Houston but I'm willing to drive to Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, etc. Thanks!

If you are a cash buyer, flexible on color and options, and you are not in a hurry, I'd do invoice (get him to send it to you) less 5K ... if you want to buy now, invoice less 4K or so ?

Its the manual (6 speed) with premium package, no sales tax included; but all fees and docs charges are. all the options but without: Nav, ill. kick, and spoiler. It was not a demo, with only 17 miles on it; as with all the 'new' cars are.

the price is 35,440 with 0.9% purchase price is 36, 240 or so; less than $900 finance charge for 60 months. I got the car in Chicago, at Infiniti of Lisle. I am paying $604 a month for 5 years.

I sent an email to your carspace email address with the name address if you respond as mentioned I'll forward his email. I'm reluctant to post it as I originally had my real name in my profile and 1 of the dealers picked it up and pointed it out to me. By the way just make sure you don't buy their last black on black one

08 G35x Dealer quote with Prem and Sport by gotsit

Hello All,

I just received a quote from a dealer for an 08 G35x with Premium and Sport packages. I plan on taking advantage of the .9% financing deal. The quote came in at $35810 (dealer said this price was invoice) which excludes TTL. Is this price quote good or could I get a little more off?

Thanks

Invoice on that car is actually $35699. Since you're taking the financing deal, I'd get them to knock off another $1000.

Yes, chewy734 is right. You should not pay more than $34699 plus TTL (invoice less $1000 sell down bonus) if you plan to take the 0.9% financing. Also, you should ask for a full tank of premium gas, a cargo net, and the floor mats, all of which should be included in that price. Good luck!
