You can consider it as padding if the doc fee is high. No matter what happens you cannot save this fee if you buy or lease the car. He quoted $249 as doc fee. 2) Reg fee: It varies from state to state. In NJ a new registration is for 4 years and I think $334 is about right. If you have a trade in and elect to keep the same plate the reg fee should be substantially lower. 3) Tire & misc fees are too small to worry about. Additionally, the sales tax is different from state to state as well. In NJ the tax is 7% but I think NY City has a higher rate while Upstate NY's rate is lower. Hope this info helps. Happy car shopping! |

| Just paid $29,702 cash for a Blue Slate 2008 Journey with Premium Package in Atlanta. That price includes dealer doc fee as well. Only thing not included in that price is 7% sales tax and $65 title fee. | |

Looks like there will not be a rush to sell out of G35s. Sales person said that it is good for G35 owners in that massive discounting lowers car values. Food for thought. All of which leads me to the second thing I learned. When negotiating a deal the seller said "we do not sell below invoice and that is invoice plus $200". I said that is way too high to be invoice. The seller said yes it is, check Edmunds for invoice info. My response, I am looking at Edmunds and your "invoice" is exactly $500 over the Edmunds invoice. Side comment = looks like invoice padding. Guess they can make any invoice whatever they want. Sellers offer was $700 over Edmund invoice. Good luck to all on your excellent deals

I was offered $30,500 as a cash price, do you think that's the best I'll get?
