Hi all, after getting 3 quotes from the internet/telephone I went to a local Infiniti dealership in Edison, NJ to take a look at the car. I was there 10 minutes before their closing and so I only briefly looked at the car & asked some basic questions. If the price is right I plan to take a test drive next Monday (the dealer incentives expire 11/3/08). I have another car in mind, the 2009 Acura TL AWD, but it is not available until next week (after 11/3). The G35x has the following options: Premium package Navigation package Wood trim package Splash guards The MSRP is $40605 and the Invoice is $37107 including the $815 destination charge. Doc fee $249, MV fee $334, Tire & other charges $15.5. I can have this car for $32653 plus sales tax of $2285.71 for $34938.71 OTD. The above price includes the $1000/3000 dealer incentive and is only for cash purchase. If I decide to lease or finance the car, the $3000 incentive would be added back for the computation. In other words, I have to pay $3210 more if I choose leasing or financing. I have not tested drive the car but the first impression the car gave me was good. However, I was provided with the following points to consider by my friends: 1) Extremely low resale value. 2) Poor fuel efficiency (only 17/23, the 2009 G37x with bigger engine gets 18/25; however, it would cost $5000/$6000 more). 3) Trunk mounted CD changer making the already tiny trunk space (13.5 cf?) even smaller. 4) Cramped rear leg room (34.7 in?). 5) Uncomfortable rear center seat (would be a pain for the 3rd person in the rear center seal). With the above weaknesses on the G35x you may ask why I still am interested in this car and not go for the 2009 TL AWD. Well, the price is about $9000 more for the TL AWD and I can use that money for other things. Also, the G35x compares favorably to Lexus IS 250 AWD, BMW 330 AWD, the Mercedes C300 4Matic, the Audi A4 AWD, and some other AWD vehicles in terms of value and features. Moreover It receives a lot of good reviews from the current owners. I appreciate your honest opinion on this car before Monday 11/3/08. |

Has anyone here had any luck in getting a deal on a new 2008 Infiniti? I'm looking at the G37 and I've been talking with dealers all over Texas through the internet but nobody is offering me a good enough deal. I would like to get a G37 below invoice, and use the 0.9% APR. I've seen in several places that Infiniti has a 1% of the MSRP dealer holdback, and I saw on another website that, in addition, they have a 2% flooring allowance. Does anyone know if this information is accurate, or outdated? I've been looking throughout October, and it doesn't seem like the dealerships are selling many cars, because their online inventory remains the same everyday. Yet, they won't offer a good deal, some not even close to invoice. Has anyone here bought an Infiniti below invoice and used the 0.9%, or does anyone know if the holdback and flooring allowance is accurate?

I think the big discounts on the new cars thus lower the trade in value for older cars is normal because of the economy. I think even the TL has lower value now b/c people can get a NEW '08 base TL for about 26K.
