Thanks for the info. I will check out the M35 forum to see what you are talking about. I'm assuming you are talking about getting a G35X w/ premium and navigation for $33,500 with .9% financing?(I believe this was in one of your previous posts) I would be all over that deal, and it may be possible as we get closer to December.

My recent deal in MI by ronspartan

Just picked up my 08 G35Xs at Infiniti of Ann Arbor. The deal I got was as follows:

Platinum graphite with graphite leather
39180 MSRP
$466 per mo, 39months; 1120 at closing (1st payment+ doc fees+)
15K, cap cost was $35K +
Think it was decent deal. Want to thank everyone who helped me through the process. Dealership was awesome. Did the whole deal via email & telephone.
Picked up the car & they arranged for me to return my expiring leased car (Saab) down the round. So within an hour I was out of Ann Arbor which made me happy being a Spartan. (As little time as I can spend in AA the better).. The good thing is that the owner of this dealership also owns Spartan Toyota in E Lansing.

Has anyone had any experience with a rear spoiler on this car. My wife likes it as we saw one on one of the cars at another dealership & she wants to buy it for me. I am not sold on it yet. Any thoughts.........

Upcoming November incentives or lack of. by houston_tn

Hey guys, so I couldn't get myself to pull the trigger just yet on the G35. The prices I were getting were decent and I could say that I almost did yesterday, but luckily the voice of reason (wife) convinced me that it's not that urgent of a purchase just yet. The question I pose to you is what do you think the incentives will be for this upcoming month, or even lack there of? Do you think they'll continue the $1000 customer cash and the choice between 0.9% or $3000? I think the 0.9% is all the way through January, but the $3000 is only through 11/3.

Reason I ask is that the parent company Nissan is hurting and on the Nissan side of things, they're offering 0% on 5 of there most common models. I was trying to wonder if you think any of that will transfer over to their luxury brand? Not so much 0%, but any different cash incentives. Just a little food for thought. Any idea how well the G35s have been selling this past month? If they've been leaving the lots like hot cakes, then I guess that'll be doubtful. Appreciate your insight.

Congratulations! That looks like a decent lease deal..

Buy a spoiler for a leased car? I wouldn't... $25/mo. for an appendage?

Plus, the current G looks pretty darn good, as is..

I wish I knew the answer. I also almost pulled the trigger yesterday but I have decided that I will hold out and see what the November/December incentives are. If the deals are worse, well I guess I'm not getting a G35 because I'm not paying more than the $31,500 I was quoted for the G35X w/premium.(took $3,000 instead of the special financing)

I got this feeling that it isnt going to be any better in November and that you will have to hold off until December to get a better deal then we have seen. Thats fine with me, I'm in no hurry, especially in this economy.

Need help on 2008 G35x purchase or lease by njalan

Hi all, after getting 3 quotes from the internet/telephone I went to a local Infiniti dealership in Edison, NJ to take a look at the car. I was there 10 minutes before their closing and so I only briefly looked at the car & asked some basic questions. If the price is right I plan to take a test drive next Monday (the dealer incentives expire 11/3/08). I have another car in mind, the 2009 Acura TL AWD, but it is not available until next week (after 11/3).

The G35x has the following options:
Premium package
Navigation package
Wood trim package
Splash guards
The MSRP is $40605 and the Invoice is $37107 including the $815 destination charge. Doc fee $249, MV fee $334, Tire & other charges $15.5. I can have this car for $32653 plus sales tax of $2285.71 for $34938.71 OTD.

The above price includes the $1000/3000 dealer incentive and is only for cash purchase. If I decide to lease or finance the car, the $3000 incentive would be added back for the computation. In other words, I have to pay $3210 more if I choose leasing or financing.

I have not tested drive the car but the first impression the car gave me was good. However, I was provided with the following points to consider by my friends:
1) Extremely low resale value.
2) Poor fuel efficiency (only 17/23, the 2009 G37x with bigger engine gets 18/25; however, it would cost $5000/$6000 more).
3) Trunk mounted CD changer making the already tiny trunk space (13.5 cf?) even smaller.
4) Cramped rear leg room (34.7 in?).
5) Uncomfortable rear center seat (would be a pain for the 3rd person in the rear center seal).

With the above weaknesses on the G35x you may ask why I still am interested in this car and not go for the 2009 TL AWD. Well, the price is about $9000 more for the TL AWD and I can use that money for other things. Also, the G35x compares favorably to Lexus IS 250 AWD, BMW 330 AWD, the Mercedes C300 4Matic, the Audi A4 AWD, and some other AWD vehicles in terms of value and features. Moreover It receives a lot of good reviews from the current owners.

I appreciate your honest opinion on this car before Monday 11/3/08.

You know Njalan, the longer I hold off on buying the G35 Journey, I start having the same questions like you. The resale value, fuel economy, etc...I figure it all depends on how we plan to use the car. Daily driver for me, to & from work and since work is about 5 miles away, I only rack up close to (if not less) than 50miles/week. That helps with fuel costs. Plus I plan on keeping this car til it's drivetrain falls out from underneath it, so in regards to resale value, I'm hoping by then I'll have saved up enough for another car or for whatever else I need.

Of course this will be different for everyone, but that's how I convinced myself that if or when I buy this car, I won't have a ton of buyer's remorse. Best of luck with your car shopping and that is an amazing price on the car though.

I was looking for the same car best quote I got was 35195 with the .9 percent financing and 32195 without, but this is in NY. After reading the remarks in the m35 forum about them lowering residuals on leased cars by 6k if you would buy them and up to 12k on M35x. I began to remorse over the resale values of the car and the very key points you brought up fun car to drive but not wiithout its negatives, and will the economy rebound enough to bring them back up during the 5 years I will have it.

Well, your quote is better than my best quote by $458 plus tax. Actually, I made a mistake when computing the OTD price because I did not include the doc fee ($249), MV fee ($334) & other fee ($15.5). So, the correct OTD should be $35537.21.

I am still debating whether or not to go to the dealership next Monday to test drive the car. Thank you and Houston TN (Posting #6725) for the valuable opinion. Meanwhile, I welcome more advice from other folks in this forum.
