I can guess who your dealer is. They do have attitude! Are you sure their address is not Bethesda, MD instead of Rockville, MD? Sounds like they really need to sell as your deal is very good. Their customer service is sufficient. They will fix the paint chipping and scratches if you approach them with a technical service bulletin. They are practically rebuilding my car and we shall see the quality when, and if, it returns to my driveway. The TSB site is posted in the general G35 forum. Look in the historical posts, print the TSBs and go to the service department armed with evidence. I think there is one for paint chipping if not mistaken? There is one for almost everything else along with three recall notices (some are the sedan only). I would worry more about the poor brake pad brake rotor quality than the paint. Order your pads NOW because you will need replacements soon. Infinity replaces the rear pads for free and you can get them to replace the front pads if you persist. I heard a major magazine is publishing an article regarding the G35 brake issue. Prices should drop soon, unfortunately for us current owners if the article is published. PS..if you go behind the dealership, you will find more than one coupe and MANY sedans. They hide these and say they only have "one or two" in stock. Most of all, congrats and enjoy your car. The coupe looks wonderful! Wish my wife would let me get one. You will love driving. Most of all, do not let a little "tricked-out" honda civic beat you from a stop light! |

Thanks for the advice. Your right about the Bethesda address. Will they really fix paint chips? I'll check out the TSB site. It is a great looking car-and although I would rather have purchased from a more customer friendly manufacturer, it's the only vehicle that I truly love the look of. Thanks for the advice, Tom |

They will fix the paint. They contract the job to a third party. The service guys are not as mean as the sales manager. A couple of women behind the service cashier counter are also very pleasant to look at and to deal with As stated, they do the right thing, but are not proactive. You need to call things to their attention and go to them armed with the TSBs and recalls. My service person is quite pleasant, but seems totally overloaded with work. That is one tough job! Drive around to the back of the Mall area and you will see all the coupes and sedans. "One or two left" my backside! They have hundreds remaining. What a joke. I saw four coupes this weekend. Did they sell them all in one day? Let us know how you like the coupe after driving it for a few weeks. It looks awesome! |

i, also, just fell in love w/ the G35 COUPE the other day. actually placed an order for one (with no obligation to buy). can anyone tell me if this is a good price? i know 2004's are on their way soon. for a coupe w/ PREMIUM PACKAGE, SPORTS PACKAGE< AERO KIT AND TRUNK MAT (before taxes, title and registration fees), i was given a MSRP of $35,615. Is this good?? Anyone recommend any dealers or other locations w/ better offers? i was at ray catena in edison. |

Hello all! I just made an offer for invoice + $300 via email to a Northern California Infiniti dealership on a G-35 leather automatic and nothing else. Dealer emailed back saying we need to talk. So called the guy; seems friendly on phone. He explained that he would agree to my offer except that the actual "invoice" price was higher than what I found in Kelley and Edmunds web sites. He said there is a "Marketing Assessment Fee" added by Infiniti on all G35s sold in Northern California which raises his "invoice" price by $400. I know there are all kinds of wheels and deals between the manufacturer and dealers. However, it is usually the manufacturer paying dealers back on part of the purchase price. Has anyone come across this "Marketing Assessment Fee" when they bought their G-35s in CA? If this checks out, I plan on making the purchase this weekends. So any inputs are much appreciated! Thanks! |

| According to a dealer who posts (and is well regarded) at freshalloy.com, that is a fee that is in place on every car no matter where it was sold. some people choose to debate him on it.... | |
| Thanks, cheerioboy! Do you have the link or remember under which topic it was at freshalloy.com? Now, I may believe if the fee is applied to regions where it is expensive to advertise (and it is here in CA!) it smells fishy if the fee is added on to EVERY car. I mean why don't they just raise the invoice price then? But thanks for the input! | |
