This is what the cash rebate offer says here (for NE Illinois): http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/infiniti/g35/100943788/incentives.html?vdp=off&s- etzip=60035&state=IL

$500 Cash to Customer start: 02/29/2008 end: 03/31/2008

Restrictions: Conquest bonus cash is available to current registered owners of a Non-Infiniti vehicle. Offer is good towards the purchase or lease of eligible vehicles.

Comments: Dealer participation may vary. Incentives and Rebates are provided subject to the terms of our Visitor Agreement.

It doesn't say it isn't, but are both the 1.9/2.9% financing AND the cash rebate available?

"it's Infiniti's fiscal year-end this months and they have LOTS of cars to move"

Not so fast! Once a vehicle is ordered or delivered to the dealer from the factory the manufacturer considers it sold. You must also know that the dealerships are separate entities and do not necessarily have the same fiscal year end as the manufacturer.

For the purposes of monthly sales as reported by the car makers, only cars delivered to CUSTOMERS count as sold cars. Delivery to the DEALER means nothing, except maybe the clock is running on the free floor plan from the manufacturer.

The dealers make big money in the service department and in disposing of used car trade-ins, either by auction or on their own lots. The real value of a used car is somewhat mysterious ... there are guidelines but no solid data upon which to base a price. When I bought my wife's GX470 they gave me a fair $7K trade-in on her ten year old Grand Cherokee w/ 60K miles (after discounting the Lexus). They gave it a bath and put it on their lot for $12,500 and it sold within a few days, obviously not for $12.5K but certainly a whole lot more than the $7K they had in it. $10K? That would be a 42% return in a few days. Nice work if you can get it! Bart

Feb 1 the new prices went into effect. On cars produced (or perhaps delivered to the dealer) before that data have the old prices. It is up to $250 per car higher, so the average non-full-loaded example may have gone up less than $200.

Hi guys, i just got this offer from my local dealership. I dont know if it is good or not, any advice would be highly appreciated.

Okay, The MSRP for 2008 G37,6MT, Black/Graphite, premium package, navigation package and illuminated kick plates is $42,575. The offer we can give you is $39,130.19 for a savings of $3444.81.
I based $5,000 down on both lease and finance:
$5,000 down, lease at 42 months, 15k miles per year=$392.00 plus tax per month(I'm thinking Seattle is 9.1%=$426.00
$5,000 down, finance 2.9% at 60 months, $682.00 per month. Your bank might be able to offer you a really low interest rate at 72 or 84 months if you choose to lower your payment and extend your term.
if you come down here, I'll give you your choice of all-weather Infiniti floor mats ($100.00 value)or a coupon book with 2 free oil changes and discounts off detail services, parts, etc..

is this a good deal? ok deal? bad deal? THANKS GUYS

And o yeah, should i opt for the tech package (what should i expect from that? Do i really need it?)

Holy cow...I can't speak to the deal on the G37 - let the guys who know the G37 numbers answer that - but in no way should you put down $5K on a lease! If you lease, roll everything in and take that down payment money to establish a lease payment fund. Cash is king! Don't part with it upfront on a lease.
