I wouldn't think you would want to pay more than 29k for this car. Even Carmax has examples with <10k miles for under 30 grand, and they tend to ask near full market value, so this should be a good indicator. If you go on there right now, they have one G37 with 8k miles for like 36 grand, while 07s are going for 28g with similar mileage. The 07 coupe is a sweet car, no doubt about it. But the market is showing you should get a substantial discount such as 8000 or maybe try for even more off the original msrp. I would know, I bought a leftover 07 back in September but only got about 4500 off at that time. I really like the car and honestly it offers all of the performance of the 08, maybe even slightly sharper handling at the cost of higher road noise. But now realize I could have gotten an 08 for nearly the same monthly payment and had the fresh model with all the improvements, given the good lease rates right now. The performance hindrance of the new coupe is the extra 200-300 lbs it has gained. That nearly offsets the impressive punch of the 3.7 motor! It would be nice to get the 3.7 motor punch in a 350Z which weighs about 400 lbs less. There is talk of a new Z coming out soon with a little less bulk and more refinement. Also talk of the 3.7 finding itself into the G sedan which weighs 200 lbs less than the coupe.

Need data on Infiniti G35 by asteinberg

Still must decide between three DIFFERENT cars -- all that I like Lexus GS350, Cadillac CTS (with blue tooth added, giving me separate screen), or Infiniti G35. Then, must decide whether to buy or lease. Incidentally, Lexus has best mileage, but Cadillac uses regular gas. I currently have BMW 530i.
Anyway, for GS350, G35, and CTS, could you please provide:
(1) Target deal relative to invoice+destination (and any rebate)
(2) If buy, available finance rates
(3) If lease, money factor or interest for 24mo, 36 mo for 12K, 15K annually
Thank you for this information. I'll also put on other forums, in case you guys see that first.
Thank you!

Last night I purchased a Platinum Graphite 2008 G35 Journey with premium package, performance tire and wheel package, wood trim, and trunk cargo net. The final price was invoice plus tax, license, registration fees, etc. minus the $500 rebate (for using their 1.9% financing). I am in So Cali and the out the door price (not including estimated interest on the financing) was $35,737.43.

It didn't take much haggling (almost closing time). All in all, a fair price for an awesome car!

Thanks to everyone on this forum for all the tips...I thought this car was too high in demand to get under invoice, but I guess not.

This is what the cash rebate offer says here (for NE Illinois): http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/infiniti/g35/100943788/incentives.html?vdp=off&s- etzip=60035&state=IL

$500 Cash to Customer start: 02/29/2008 end: 03/31/2008

Restrictions: Conquest bonus cash is available to current registered owners of a Non-Infiniti vehicle. Offer is good towards the purchase or lease of eligible vehicles.

Comments: Dealer participation may vary. Incentives and Rebates are provided subject to the terms of our Visitor Agreement.

It doesn't say it isn't, but are both the 1.9/2.9% financing AND the cash rebate available?

"it's Infiniti's fiscal year-end this months and they have LOTS of cars to move"

Not so fast! Once a vehicle is ordered or delivered to the dealer from the factory the manufacturer considers it sold. You must also know that the dealerships are separate entities and do not necessarily have the same fiscal year end as the manufacturer.

For the purposes of monthly sales as reported by the car makers, only cars delivered to CUSTOMERS count as sold cars. Delivery to the DEALER means nothing, except maybe the clock is running on the free floor plan from the manufacturer.
