How far are you from Knoxville, Duluth, GA, and/or Chattanooga? I am pretty sure you can get a coupe for maybe $1k under MSRP with $0 dealer fee at one of them and maybe a better deal at the others.

I am about 4 hours away. I live in Winston-Salem right now and there are only 4 on the lot here with only 1 being manual. Im still not sure whether I want the Infiniti or a bimmer but the discount off MSRP could be a deciding factor.

The guy in Knoxville told me he would do $1,000 off of MSRP and they have $0 doc fee, you might be able to negotiate a better deal than that. You can also check with Gwinnett in Duluth - they may offer you a nice deal as well. Chattanooga is a bit out of the way for you, it looks like. E-mail me for contract info via my profile if you would like, or just go through their web pages.

I have had two BMWs (330i, M5) and they were great cars as long as they were not having problems . Even with the improvements, the G models still lag behind a bit as a "driver's car" but the gap is pretty narrow, but Infiniti has an edge in price and reliability and (to me) interior and exterior design. The G coupes retain value at least as well as a BMW coupe, I would think - the sedans do not seem to do quite as well. For 99% of the drivers and 99% of the situations the G is all anyone would need.

If you know someone who works for Nissan or you work for a supplier you can get a VPP price - which for most folks ends up about $300 over invoice (less any incentives or rebates). Makes for a simple transaction at a nice price.

A loaded up G37 sport (nav, tech, premium, etc) is under $40k invoice and around $43k MSRP. If you configure a BMW 335 coupe with cold/sport/premium/nav/active cruise/PDC/etc the INVOICE is $47,692 with an MSRP of $51.325. So on a loaded car, you cold buy the BMW at invoice and the G37 at full MSRP still pay nearly $5,000 more for it. However you want your car configured would effect that difference, but even stripped it will be a lot of money. Add in a discount off of the G MSRP and the gap is even wider.

I just purchased a G37 (Platinum Graphite) with Preminum, Navigation, Sport, Splash Guards, and Trunk mat, MSRP of $43275 plus doc.fee of $499 and Title of $43 for $40200 at Infiniti of Gwinnett in Atlanta. The only additional cost is my state tax of 2.00375% in Alabama.
They gave me a good trade in on my 2001 G20 and also gave me the $500 owner loyalty discount.

The experience was relatively straightfoward. Just a little back and forth. They are getting the car from another dealer in Atlanta and I will pick up Friday.

Was that 40,200 including the doc fee and title? Also did they charge you for the transfer? Im gonna look them up. Im exchanging emails with INfiniti of Charlotte right now but I havent gotten a price out of him as of yet. Im just happy to know that MSRP isnt the name of the game.
Heres the one they found for me.

That is a nice price, not much over invoice. Any time there is a trade involved there is a little risk that others could not go to the same dealer and get the same deal. For example, if they gave you $4,000 for a car that has a trade in value of $5,500 elsewhere then your deal is $1,500 higher than it appears. You said they DID give you a fair on your car - at least as much as other dealers or CarMax (Driver's Way or whatever) or as shown in Edmunds or KBB. That being the case, the cost of the car SHOULD be the same no matter if you had the trade of not.

So nice deal!

You decided on the coupe after all - the premium for 2 less doors probably is not "Worth it" but I would probably do the same thing. I don't need 2 more doors and the coupe just as a bit more "wow" to it . The coupe retains value much more than the sedan and is a highly desirable used car, so whenever you are done with it (if ever) you should be able to get more of your money back than you would with a sedan.

Fingers crossed for good lease numbers for December, in my case.

Price in Texas by sam_jones

I have got a quote in Houston Texas for a 08 G35 Sedan with sport and premium package (along with splash guards/trunk mat ) for 35,300 +TTL. It seems to be pretty difficult to get it down further. I really do not know what other leverage I can use to get the price down any lower
Do you guys think it is decent deal ? Any past experiences from anyone in Houston or even Dallas ?

thks

No, that did not include the doc. and title fees ($499 + $43). They did give me the $500 owner loyalty and deleted the fees. The only additional that I will have to pay is the 2.00375% state and county sales tax.

If you go with your head, you will go for the G35. Go with your heart and the G37 will win out. If I had not driven the coupe, I would have gone with the sedan, but one drive was all that it took. The dealer says he has it detailed and waiting for me to pick up on Friday. Looking foward to being a kid again!
