08 G35 Purchase Price in Miami by alron

Last weekend I got my 08 G35 Journey Platinun Graphite with Premium Package. Price offered $34,400. Dealership: South Motors Infiniti. Did not have to haggle a lot about price and received a good deal for the trade in (03' G35). They were very professional and also hooked me up with the 3.99% 5 year financing. It was a good buying experience. The deal was completed in less time than expected. By my experience the Service people are very courteous. My first G35 purchased in April 2002 (03 Model) was the best car I had ever owned, never had problems so I was a repeat brand buyer.

I got quoted this for a infiniti g37 sport
Nav package
Tech package
Sport package
Primium package
splash guards
trunk mat + net
door foot guard light "infiniti" word

Quote $42000 + $99 documentation fee. The 42k includes a $600 or so charge to truck it in from another dealership.

This a rip off or good?

I added it up and it seemed like invoice price should have been around 39200.

Thanks!

Most dealers are not selling coupes (G37) anywhere near invoice right now - and some are only taking off a modest amount from FULL MSRP. Of course, I am sure some deals are being made on them by motivated dealers. If you add up all the stuff on your list I get $39,584 (every possible option except spoiler and 4WAS) with an MSRP of $43,495 - both prices including the destination charge. So $42,000 would be way over invoice but a good bit under invoice - so at this time and for some areas this would be a good price, I guess.

What *I* would do is call around and find the car I wanted on the dealer lot myself and make a deal direct with them. If this dealer can do this price, then the dealer with that could as well - and you save the $600. In fact, I would shop around any dealer within a few hundred miles and all directions and you may find one that has lots of G37s on the lot, winter coming, and is more motivated to move the car that your local dealer. You only have to go to the selling dealer once - to pick up the car, then use the local dealer if you need service. Go get the car where you can get what you want for the best price.

How far are you from Knoxville, Duluth, GA, and/or Chattanooga? I am pretty sure you can get a coupe for maybe $1k under MSRP with $0 dealer fee at one of them and maybe a better deal at the others.

I am about 4 hours away. I live in Winston-Salem right now and there are only 4 on the lot here with only 1 being manual. Im still not sure whether I want the Infiniti or a bimmer but the discount off MSRP could be a deciding factor.

The guy in Knoxville told me he would do $1,000 off of MSRP and they have $0 doc fee, you might be able to negotiate a better deal than that. You can also check with Gwinnett in Duluth - they may offer you a nice deal as well. Chattanooga is a bit out of the way for you, it looks like. E-mail me for contract info via my profile if you would like, or just go through their web pages.

I have had two BMWs (330i, M5) and they were great cars as long as they were not having problems . Even with the improvements, the G models still lag behind a bit as a "driver's car" but the gap is pretty narrow, but Infiniti has an edge in price and reliability and (to me) interior and exterior design. The G coupes retain value at least as well as a BMW coupe, I would think - the sedans do not seem to do quite as well. For 99% of the drivers and 99% of the situations the G is all anyone would need.

If you know someone who works for Nissan or you work for a supplier you can get a VPP price - which for most folks ends up about $300 over invoice (less any incentives or rebates). Makes for a simple transaction at a nice price.

A loaded up G37 sport (nav, tech, premium, etc) is under $40k invoice and around $43k MSRP. If you configure a BMW 335 coupe with cold/sport/premium/nav/active cruise/PDC/etc the INVOICE is $47,692 with an MSRP of $51.325. So on a loaded car, you cold buy the BMW at invoice and the G37 at full MSRP still pay nearly $5,000 more for it. However you want your car configured would effect that difference, but even stripped it will be a lot of money. Add in a discount off of the G MSRP and the gap is even wider.

I just purchased a G37 (Platinum Graphite) with Preminum, Navigation, Sport, Splash Guards, and Trunk mat, MSRP of $43275 plus doc.fee of $499 and Title of $43 for $40200 at Infiniti of Gwinnett in Atlanta. The only additional cost is my state tax of 2.00375% in Alabama.
They gave me a good trade in on my 2001 G20 and also gave me the $500 owner loyalty discount.

The experience was relatively straightfoward. Just a little back and forth. They are getting the car from another dealer in Atlanta and I will pick up Friday.
