Thanks kyfdx. I've also researched leasing I just don't see what the benefit would be for me?

Well.. you should be able to get a lower payment. But, that doesn't necessarily make your total costs any lower than buying, in the long term.

Either buy an older model, or lower your sights a little. An Acura TSX would fit nicely into that price point.

just answering your question-- your talking about a 35k dollar car and your putting down 4k -- so 10 years works if you do the math

Thanks Kyfdx.

Meh, a girl can dream about the Infiniti. I just don't want to cut into my spending money that much. When I look at the numbers compared to my situation I could pull of a 600 plus car payment. I just don't want to, but I would like to have the G35 Coupe. Maybe I'll get the poor man's G35, the Altima Coupe

Why buy? by superman2424

I still wonder why people BUY cars.. There's absolutely no benefit to owning a depreciating asset that is not tax deductible. Ohiogirl, do yourself a huge financial favor.. Do not put $4000 down and lease your car. If you're looking at an '06, chances are your lease payment will be under $500 and you'll have the car you want and $4,000 in the bank. What happens if you have an emergency and you purchased your vehicle? If you lease it, you have your $4,000 safety net in the bank and driving the same car. Say by the horrible chance you were in a car accident and the car was totaled.. Most likely you won't recoup the $4,000 unless you negotiated a very good deal from the dealership. Remember, today's dollar is worth more than tomorrow's.. Would you rather have $4,000 today or when you sell your car in 6 years (if you buy)?

Sup thanks for the reply. I have money for a safety net. I'm just not 'lease' savvy. I've browsed the leasing threads and I get

How does leasing affect your credit score? With leasing it just seems to me that your paying more for the car. You're making your monthly payments then at the end if you want to buy it you still have to pay more money? I just don't get it.

Please forgive me yall as I've said I've been without a car payment for 2 years and I bought my car in '01.

There is nothing wrong with leasing in the right situation, but if you keep a car for six years, you are much better off buying..

You seem to have a good attitude towards your finances. Better to be safe than sorry.

Purchase Price on a new G35x, VPP question 07 vs 08 by stlouisjoe

I've been offered a price of 34,500 (already including dest) for an '07 G35x with the Premium Package and Splash Guards. How does this stack up to what others are getting?

Also, is anyone out there clear on how the VPP pricing works and how they determine the discount. If I have VPP pricing am I better off waiting for an 08 (when will they hit dealership floors?)

Thanks

That is $602 over invoice. A very good deal. You might get another $100 out of them if you push the issue, but that is a good deal. If you are leasing, we need to know all the other components of the lease to make sure the entire deal is a good deal, but as for sale price, IMO you have done well.

I'm hearing 08 sedans will hit floors in October. There is a link posted earlier in this thread to a Nissan website that details qualifications and pricing for VPP. I'm waiting for 08 as I have VPP and I like the tweaks planned.
