I'm considering buying a new G in TX, want the Journey w/ premium, nav, tech. I heard the TX dealers were less likely to negotiate. Anyone have any good experiences in TX? I'm willing to go to Dallas, Houston or San Antonio (BTW - I'm in Austin).

Can anybody share their experience buying in Michigan / Metro Detroit area? Any good deals within ~150 miles? I am looking for G35 6MT sedan with premium pkg. I have not sent any emails yet, but was wondering if somebody has any tips / advice on what those emails should contain and who should they be sent to?

i am in NJ and got a offer for invoice if I am agressive (what does this mean?). Do you think this is a good deal? Or do you think I can go lower?

Hey Sukeet,
I'm alittle lost with what your saying? You got an offer for invoice? What dealer was this and was this a base G35x? I see people getting lower then invoice on the couple but i think thats b/c of some rebate.

He probably means if you become a serious buyer and not someone who is merely getting prices. If you really do follow-up with him, perhaps he will seriously deal.

Invoice is great...I don't think anyone will get lower. The only rebates I've seen are for the 2007 coupes since the 2008 is coming out in a couple months. If you can get invoice or up to $500 over on a 2007 sedan that is great. Just make sure they aren't asking for a huge upfront payment and overcharging you on the other fees or financing. Often a dealer will say that the car is invoice, but if they tack on $1500 in excess fees or pad the financing numbers, it will negate the invoice cost on the car. Have them give you the cap cost, residual percentage, money factor, and a DETAILED breakdown of the upfront costs and fees. Don't just get a round number like $3k down...get the specifics of what each item in the $3k will cost. You can never get too much information when leasing...especially since there are so many variables for them to play with to make a profit.

What types of deals do you think Infinity will have on the G35 coupe in August (when the new G37 arrives). I curious how much better the deals will be then compared to now.

the question is that will there be any around in august? Coupes are not very easy to get these days if you are specific about color & options. I would assume it would only get worse. But then I could be wrong.

Actually...the deals will likely get better...but as you said, the selection will not and people will have to evaluate their needs vs. what they can actually find.
