There's probably good information in your post, but I read lots of threads -- I normally skip one like yours.

Use paragraphs. They imply (possibly falsely) that you have a well-thought-out position to discuss, point by point.

Remember that those of us in North America have (very) short attention spans. Plus which, everyone has a need to ingest information in useable bits.

Phone numbers, credit card numbers & all other numbers had better be in 3- or 4-digit groups, or they become hopeless to work with, as you may have noticed.

I usually do. But, I was rocking and rolling so I didn't this time.

Better develop a longer attention span....you might miss the finer things in life.

06 coupe 1 year lease question by penguinxp

Hello, I am looking at a 06 coupe, auto, premium, splash guards, trunkmat. The price they have come down to so far is $35,879 from the MSRP of $37,879 which I dont think is terrible.

I would like to purchace, but I do not want payments of over $500/month and I will most likely just want the 07 when they come out next year, so I am considering a 1 year lease to hold me over until then.

Here is where we ended up.

Sale Price: $35,879
Money Factor: .00184
Residual Value: $29,941
25k miles
$3,000 due at signing
$470/month (actual number was $469 something, I just rounded up cause I dont have the exact number here with me)

Is this about right for the sales price and lease numbers? I seem to recall seeing about the same car with lower 1st payment on here...

Thanks in advance!

Oh yea, Liquid Platinum with Slate if you care to know :p

I just want a make comment on what you said that " the law is on consumers side". I think it may be true if you can afford a good lawyer. Most of the time law is on business side because they are the ones who have army of lawyers (the same people who work for them also write the laws or access to people who write and pass the laws). Just go to different forum and read how frustrated people are when they have a problem with their new car.
Yes, there are nasty costumers every where but it doesnt justify to treat everybody the same way.

My experience with some of these dealers is that they think they are "god" and know everything. Some dealers are real good with prices and tell you upfront while other "infiniti" dealers just give you the run-around..Some can't even come up with same monthly lease payments that others got and I got..say it's impossible...For a same 06 coupe I got monthly payments ranging from $520/mo to all the way down to $366/mo for the same car, same terms, etc...Some of these dealers think they can just rip you off...But not me...I've had too much experience with doing leases and know when I see a dealer trying to rip you off. Because when I reply back to their emails to let me know the residuals and money factor they use,,they disappear from the face of the earth...That's so funny..Some of these guys think they are doing you a favor by quoting you outrageous quotes...but I know many people fall for that...Bottom line is do your research and shop around. Some dealers want to move cars and others are just too stingy with their numbers and won't budge...At least in SoCal we have so much competitiion that it helps the car buying experience.....

aw0ng - where did you get this deal? in the market for a similarly equipped vehicle and that seems like a pretty nice price. what are taxes where you live?

Here in SoCal I've been quoted on a similar car like yours w/ the addition of XM radio (MSRP of $38,140) for $34,550. That's $300 below invoice. The 1 year lease would be $366 (includes 7.75% tax) for 12mo/12k with $1333 drive off. Residual of 83% and MF of 0.00149.
