Dealer Experience by disturbedone

Hi, recently purchased a fairly newer(used) infiniti G35x from a Hartford Ct area dealer...

Can you believe this! First they hand me a purchase order to sign which they "forgot" to subtract my trade in...oops

Then they proceeded to rush through the rest of deal and as I was signing my name on the contract they asked for my credit card so they could take a deposit. I took five steps out the door before I realized the deposit was NOT even a subtraction on the contract I just signed! Was I silly for thinking an Infiniti dealership would have more class??

Not silly....just too trusting. I learned a lesson long time ago with car dealers. In my youth and my naivete thinking that trust matters I thought I had bought an RX7 signed purchase agreement, left a deposit and left,,car had to be ordered. 2 weeks later I get a call saying the car was in but I had to pay an extra $1,000 because the price had gone up. When I stated that I had a signed purchase agreement the dealer said..."we didn't sign it". If I wanted the car I would have to pay the grand. Well.I told them to shove it and got my money back. Since then I would never trust any car dealer regardless of what they sell. If I buy the car on Monday I will sit there forever if need be to be sure everything is in order. Whenever there is money involved you had better be sure that all is correct regardless of who they are.

Out of curiosity...what do you do for a living or income? To be upfront, I am in the car business and as a matter of fact I sell Infinitis. I usually give the best deals and service to customers who appreciate my service efforts, product knowledge, who are nice to me, and most importantly...don't ask me to work for free. If your employer asked you to work for free how would you feel? How would you live? My happiest customers are the ones who pay me a little more for the car. I'll go out to their house for service, be on call for them at any time, and take great care of their friends or whoever they send me. Price is important to everybody...but remember...you get what you pay for. If you have a crappy salesperson that's one thing (and believe me they are out there), but if you have a decent person, take care of them and they will take care of you...and don't ask them to work for free or you probably won't have a good experience. I hope that helps or at least will improve your dealership experience.

just so you guys know...the 2500 "cashback" CANNOT be applied to leases...it is only available for cash purchases or financing. don't think your dealer is lying about this...I work for Infiniti.

I am new here...are we talking about the 2006 G35 coupe? Is $2500 incentive and 1-3% holdback the consensus??

I just sold my 4Runner and am going out to buy a G35 Coupe this week. I am dreading the experience. I would rather buy a new house. I am gonna shoot for the 1.9% financing for 36 mos.

Is there anything else i should know in ref to pricing, before i go down to the shop.

Thanks.

the $2500 incentive is for sedans only...i.e. all trims of 4 doors...G35X, G35, and G35 Sedan 6mt.

the only incentive on coupes is the special financing...no money back

and unfortunately you cannot combine the incentives...they are mutually exclusive

you shouldn't dread the process... just a tip for your buying experience...when you go in ask for the salesperson with the highest "CSI" and or longest tenure. CSI is the measurement of a salesperson's Customer Satisfaction Index and if they have been there for a little while then they know how to make a lot of customers happy. P.S. try to get a good price but don't ask the guy to work for free
