what i wouldn't do is go into the dealer acting pissed off. speak to the sales manager and perhaps calmly suggest that this damage was done during the same incident as the splash guard damage, and suggest that a show of goodwill on the part of the dealer in repairing/replacing the wheel would go a long way towards you making the journey to have your future services/purchases done at the far dealer.

your local dealer isn't obligated, damage isn't a warranty item. for that matter, the selling dealer isn't really obligated either, as the damage could reasonably have been done in the 2 weeks interim (ie. you couldn't prove by a preponderance of evidence that the dealer damaged your wheel). hence the goodwill approach is likely your best and/or only choice.

good luck!

Quoted 2004 G35X Price. by bobspivy

I was just wondering if people thought this was a good quote, or do you think I could do better by waiting a little while longer?

2004 G35X
Premium Package, Splash Guards, Trunk Mat
MSRP $36,070
Quote was $32,189.

I thought it was good, but I'm worried that once October hits, the good financing will be reintroduced.

Thanks

The invioce on that car is around $33019. There is $500 daler cash on the G35x at the moment so it looks like they're going well into holdback. What interst rate are you being given at the moment?

They offered 4.9% and I said I could do better with my credit union and they came back with 4.25%. I don't want to get the car, and then have the rates drop back to the 1.9%. Nor do I feel like waiting, and then missing out on the color/options I want the most. Every dealer is still claiming that the interest rates "will not" be back.

Quote for G35 Coupe by loug35

I have received through the internet manager at a local infiniti dealership a quote for a g35 coupe with leather/auto/premium package/tire-wheel package for $33,310.

I had offered 32k originally but they told me it was $800 under dealer invoice.

Would really appreciate your help on this as I'm really looking to buy it now.

I will be leasing the car and thinking if I should plunk down the $2,500 cap cost to bring my payments down and if I did that should I be asking them to take more off the price they given me? ($33,310). I'm thinking if they want money down then they would need to shave off more off that price. Am I thinking out this process correctly?

Thanks!

I'm hoping to pull the trigger on an 04 G35x AWD before the end of the month.

In estimating dealer cost, I'm at a loss about holdback. Should I use ~ $900 (which is about 3% of msrp, as mentioned on this board)? Does the dealer get this *regardless* of how long the car has been on his lot? I heard somewhere that after 90 days the dealer gets zero from holdback (??).

MANY THANKS!

The dealers won't know if it's coming back or not. Of course, they'll tell you not because they want to sell you the car!

Holdback does indeed disappear after 90 days. It actually decreases over the 90 days until it is gone. My personal opinion that holdback should be off limits. It is to pay for the cost of having the car in stock. Those acres of lot space, kilo-watss of lighting and those big fancy buildings ain't free. My advice would be to shoot for $1000 under invoice but settle for $400 to $500 under.

what would everyone consider a good deal for a 2004 red g35 coupe with cloth? msrp Price: $30,360 live in NJ, but it seems like NY has better pricing? what are the rumors on October as far as financing rates going down and better incentives since the '05's are coming out? thanks for any help!
