Replying to: pisciotta (Apr 24, 2004 8:33 pm) I am hopping that more people would contribute and maybe I will end up buying. I love the car but don't need it immediately so maybe I will just take my time and see if they cave in to better deal. Once again Thank you for your input. |

I posted a message earlier about G35 4Dr Sedan. I am Purchasing this car in Scottsdale AZ Nav System, Premium PKG. w/full spare, splash guards, trunk mat. Dealer asked for Invoice $32,942 Tint Fee $299 Lex Paint Protection $125 Over Invoice $750 Total Before Taxes $34,116 MSRP $36,010 Taxes $2627 Plate $516 Doc Fee $300 Total out the door $37,559 This to me did not seem like good deal. Tint windows they claimed they need to do since G35 don't come tinted and I will need it. Hmm Not sure about that. LEX Paint Protection $125 Yes I am in ARIZONA HOT but shouldn't Infiniti Cover this. Sounds like a scam. $300 DOC fee give me a break That is way too much. Anyway I said NO to this and Walked out. Next day Salesman calls me and says that If they did not Tint the windows and they take off another $200 I would be saving additional $500. I still did not like it. Those anyone know exactly if Infiniti does window tinting as standard or is it optional and also LEX paint protection shouldn't that be a standard option. If I buy a new car I expect the paint on it to be protected without me having to pay for it to be protected. Finally DOC fee $300 what in the world are they doing if it costs that much. When I test drove the car for the second time salesman said that coupes were on demand and that it is harder to get a good deal on them and that sedans are better for price negotiations. Shortly after we started talking about the deal he said that sedans were on demand. What happened here. How soon before G35 '05 are to come out? Like I said earlier I am putting down $15,000 and I would get infiniti Financing for 1.9%. Can you guys let me know what to do here. Thanks

Replying to: crni29 (Apr 25, 2004 8:35 pm) Paint is covered by the Infiniti warrenty although some protection in a harsh climate probably isn't a bad idea in a hot climate. However, I would get this done yourself. The doc fee of $300 is ridiculous as I said previously. $45 to $50 is the norm. As far as demand goes, the Coupes are a lot more in demand than the Sedans although the supply situation on the Coupes is easing. You may want to consider contacting some Internet departments of dealers in southern California. Sedans have been selling for $100 to $250 over invoice without all the nonsense you've been subjected to. Also, if you are a Costco member, try that approach. Good luck and keep us updated! |

"It all gets down to how bad you want the car". or it all gets down to how bad they want to sell the car. |

Thank you for your help I will look into Southern Cali Market to see if I can get anything over there. The problem with me is that I am looking for specific color combination with NAV System and it seems like that is hard to get. Thanks again for all your input.
