| I live just north of you in Saline, MI. We have a dealer in Novi (Suburban Infiniti), but I am picking my car up in Grand Rapids tomorrow-(Pfeiffer Infiniti) dealt with them over the internet/phone and was able to negotiate the best price... Suburban would not match. | |
| I'm planning on going in and buying my G35 this afternoon. Ive done my homework, got written quotes from other dealers etc. I've worked a couple dealers for free lifetime oil changes with sched. maint. Has anybody else got other freebies from their dealer? Thanks | |
| I pushed and got free all-weather mats when I saw the document preparation fee on my paperwork. They didn't balk at all. | |
| Out of interest what was the document prep fee? If it's any more than $50 then it is being inflated. | |
| It was an amazing $160. My bottom line cost for the car (6MT sedan with premium package) was about $750 over invoice, so I didn't mind so much knowing the dealer has to make as much $ as possible. They wouldn't consider dropping it, though, so I pushed for the free mats. | |
| It was my understanding that floor mats came with the car. Is there a difference between "all weather" mats and regular floor mats? | |
| All weather mats are rubber and are an accessory for purchase. | |
| The internet sales manager of my local dealer (Austin Infiniti, TX) emailed me about a special 2.9% APR for 60 mos on a 2004 G35 sedan until 2/2/04. This is also listed on the Infiniti website. I've decided that I want to buy the G. My dilemma is that the lease on my 2001 I30t is up on April 8th. I doubt that they will run an incentive program at that time so I am thinking if I buy a G35 then, I'll be looking at a 4.5% to 5.0% APR even through a credit union. Since I want a 60 month note, won't that interest rate difference result in a considerably more expensive loan over 5 years? I have to balance that against the extra lease payments ($509/mo) that the dealer would have to roll into the purchase price of the G35 car (prem.,sport) or I guess I could just all remaining lease payments in a lump sum. Right now I am OK on mileage, 1000 miles over, overage which should not increase before lease turn in. Should I buy now or wait? | |
| Is the I30t on an Infiniti lease or is it with someone else. If it is with Infiniti, I would call IFS on Monday and see if they would take it back now with no further payment. They are very accomodating with this and you may be surprised. I would not as a dealer to check this for you but do it yourself. | |

My experience purchasing a 2004 G35 6MT Sedan in the SF bay area last weekend was far easier than I thought it would be. I first did my homework and got invoice and holdback prices, and checked stock on the infinity website. No 6MT sedans at either of the 2 dealers near me. They each had 40+ 5ATs, though! Are the 6MTs really in demand, are are the dealers just stupid and not ordering any sticks? I find one 6MT in Colma and 3 6MTs in Pleasanton. The one in Colma is the exact color and options I want (Silver/Black w/Premium), and I find there is only one other like it in San Diego almost 400 miles away. I saw alistaircookie's post (#1036) about the pleasanton 3200 off MSRP deal so I signed up and got them to email me the special: 3200 off MSRP and 1.9% financing off any G35 sedan in stock. I printed it out to use for haggling with the Colma dealer. Thanks for the info, alistaircookie! I had planned my negotiating strategy, to ask Colma to match the deal or I would go to Pleasanton and just buy one there. I wasn't going to let them know pleasanton didn't have the right colors or options in stock. I was ready for the whole "its in demand, its the only 6MT you'll find in CA we only have one, 6MTs go for MSRP, etc". So I call up Colma, verify they have the car, and schedule an appt to drive it (I hadn't driven a G35 stick yet so I wasn't sure I'd like it). I show up, drive it, like it, and sit down at the dreaded negotiating table. All the salespeople are whispering "it's the appointment guy" to each other (I guess that impressed them). First words out of their mouth, its on sale for MSRP-3288 (that's $30157, $54 below invoice). Sold! I politely turn down all the paint protection, ext warranties, etc. and drive it home with 1.9% infinity financing and the only dealer fee being a $45 doc prep fee. Out the door at $32939. I highly recommend the dealership in Colma! |
