The G35 I plan to buy had an invoice of $29,182. I have a written quote from a local dealer of $29,782. That's a difference of $600. The price includes the $400 ad fee. When people talk about getting a G35 at invoice plus X number of dollars, are they figuring in the $400 ad fee? In other words, in the example above, am I getting the car at $200 over invoice plus the ad fee, or am I getting the car at $600 over invoice? I know they add up to the same, but I am trying to compare this deal with other deals mentioned on this board. Thanks |

| The $400 ad fee is dealer added. I don't think Team Infiniti in Oxnard, CA has it. At least, the guy did not mention it on the phone. | |
| is on the "real" infinti invoice. I am sure your numbers would match up with carsdirect.com invoice pricing. Edmunds does not track ad fees as they vary by regions. (they should though because they ask for your zipcode the same as carsdirect). Ask him to show you the invoice if it is printed there that is the real invoice price and you pay x amount over that. If you aren't happy with that adjust your offer over/under invoice by 400. | |

>>When people talk about getting a G35 at invoice plus X number of dollars, are they figuring in the $400 ad fee?<< I wasn't, but the dealer was <g>. He told me $500 over invoice, so I did all my calculating and ciphering, and came up with my ideal price. His ideal price included the $400 ad fee (Chicago area), and I could not make it go away. (It was printed on the invoice.) Anyway, when all was said and done, I paid $162 over my ideal price, so I was very happy. |

Hello to everyone: I am new to the board and recently discovered the G35 discussions. My husband and I have been searching for new car options for the past few months and test drove some of the models in Lexus' line. Last week we finally had a close encounter with a G35 and we both LOVED it! We test drove it at Cerritos Infinity and the sales person who helped us was very amiable and there was no pressure. Naturally, after the test drive it was time for some serious research on prices, options, etc. I submitted online requests through Edmunds, Cars Direct, through my credit union's buying service, through Costco's buying service, and through a great website- Autosfleet.com Within 24 hours I received responses from several dealerships close to my house, but a lot of them were just emails asking me to call them. I did get a lone email directly from the fleet manager from one of the dealerships and he included his price for the car in the email and it was invoice, so it was a great start. A week later (today), this is basically were I'm at with pricing: I will be purchasing within two weeks a G35 RWD sedan in Twilight Blue with Willow leather including the Premium Package with the Sport Suspension/Pckg. and has the mats/splash guards. MSRP: 34,240 Invoice: 30,901 My "quoted" price was $31,000 I think that's great because I can save $3240 off sticker and with the dealer-hold back, the dealer makes roughly $1000. Sorry for such a long post...my whole point is that all the buying advice from Edmunds really works, the dealers really don't bother with all the B.S. if you go straight to the fleet department or Internet Sales, they know you the "internet consumer" are already aware of their true pricing. By the way, all my local dealers that I have spoken to were accomodating, but Cerritos and Torrance had the best and most straightforward pricing. Good Luck to everyone and I hope to be driving my new G35 soon! |

| Uscgirl, where did you get the final quote? Did it include the $400 ad fee? Thanks, jzwu | |
|
jzwu: That final price was inclusive of the ad fee and was at Infiniti Torrance. They have the exact car on the lot, so as a customer I have some leverage because they need to move the inventory out and get their holdback from the manufacturer. I was also told today (I don't know if it true) that this is a great time to buy because the dealers are fully stocked for the New Year and need to sell fast to meet quotas, etc... Hope this helps....if you need anymore info, let me know! =) |
