Replying to: utter (Jul 09, 2006 3:22 pm) I have tried using silicon spray and spraying it inside all the window casings and then rubbing it around with a cloth. It works for about 1 hour. Then the sounds return. I can also replicate it by pushing on the window or the door. Also, it creaks a little when I pull the door towards me while it's shut. But, as soon as I crack the windows a hair, the creaking stops. But, of course, with the wind rushing in, you cannot drive like that for long. I took it to the dealer for that specific problem 3 times, also with them assuring me it was fixed. Nope. I think they actually made it worse - but maybe that's just because I am focusing on the noise like it's my job.

Replying to: esfoad (Jul 11, 2006 7:48 am) I tried looking at your previous posts (clicking on your name and couldn't find it)...any hints on where it might be exactly? (I don't want you to spend time looking for it, as you have-potentially- been very helpful already)..but a finger pointed in the right direciton would be an immense help. Thanks!

I recently purchase a 2003 G35 with 15k miles. Now at 18k miles, I heard a squealing from my rear brakes. I took the car in to get serviced and was told that my back brakes were shot and that front pad and rotors were gone also. I looked at the service records for the car and see that the front pads and rotor were already change at 11,700 miles. After reading up a lot about this online, I've heard all about the brake problems, but 6300 miles for a set of pads and rotors is insane. I've called CustomerAffairs, but they blew me off. I'm now trying to find out if I can get the dealership to do anything about it. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Even now if the dealer fixes my problem, can I really keep this car if I'm going to have to change the pads and rotors every 6-10k miles?? I know a lot of you have this problem, so I'd like to hear what you've done about it. Thanks.

Does anyone know if the early brake pad wear problem was fixed for 2006. I am going to buy a G35 tomorrow and would really appreciate any guidance on this. THX |
