I have the Avon 550A/S 17s. They are my third set of tires after only 15,000 miles. My first two set of tires wore out in the rear middle treads after only 6-7,000 miles. The front of the Avons are already starting to feather on the front inside tread areas as all the Coupes do. I have not paid for any of my tires so I am not complaining about cost, however the Coupe's 3 weakest areas are Paint, brakes, and it's eating up tires.

Just a thought, but if the tires wore out in "the rear middle treads", sounds like over-inflation to me. The front inside "feathering" sounds like an alignment issue. Also, do you drive the car in a sporting manner? Not that there's anything wrong with this but lower mileage from a set of tires would be expected. This does not condone only 6-7000 miles out of a set of tires but all factors must be considered when abnormal wear occurs.

Mine doesn't eat tires at all. I've had my avons for about 15k miles, still look brand new. They are 10x (at least) better than the stock Goodyears which lasted about 40k miles. Still have the original goodyears on the front, have about 5k miles left according to dealer.

I just took my 05 G35x with 19,000 miles to the dealer for the brakes last week and was told that it needs new front pads AND rotors. They are trying to tell me it is normal wear and tear--like I'm stupid enough to believe that! I spoke to Infiniti Consumer Affairs and they are saying the same thing. The owner of the dealership said he would talk to Infiniti and get back to me later this week to see what they might be able to do. This problem along with the doors/windows clicking and rattling constantly (something they can't seem to figure out how to fix)is enough to make me never buy another Infiniti again. BTW, the rear brakes are fine.

I don't know enough about the newer (05/06) G35s, but for the 03 and 04 less than 20K out of front brakes has been typical. Whether or not it is acceptable is another matter. I have 55K on my 03 sedan, and had the front brakes replaced at around 18K and 35K.....just waiting for the current pads to give up. I was one of the lucky (?) ones who received an extended 3/36 warranty on the brakes, so I haven't had to pay....yet.

This doesn't seem to be a problem with the M or FX.

Prepare to pay about $580 for pads and rotors. I'm on my 3rd set of pads and rotors. I was under the 36K mark but I was past the 3 yr mark. If Infiniti really cared they would have made it a flat 36K warranty with no time limit. You should be happy you don't have a QX 56. They also have pad and rotor problems to the fact that people given a 100K no time limit. People were coming in after 2k to replace pads/rotors. I hope that they fired the moron who designed the brakes for the G35 and the QX56

I just received a call back from the dealership. I'm bringing the car back in tomorrow morning and they are going to replace the rotors and pads free of charge. They're doing it as a "good-will gesture".

I should be so lucky. All this has done is to create bad feelings for me about infiniti. Kudos to your dealership for doing the right thing.

Sudden Acceleration by andrew1cohen

I've had a sudden acceleration problem with my Infiniti. It was serious. Are there any other reports of this problem with a G35? I assumed I did something wrong, but have found a few complaints on the NHTS complaints site and here in the forums. I have not driven my car since the problem (it sustained a lot of damage in the incident and is still in the shop).

I have had prior issues will the car revving up in appropriately but never with any consequences.

Anyone with similar issues or other info on this please let me know.

Thanks!
