Questions about the 2006 Coupe by rollbar

Can automatic door lock be coded to "on" by the consumer? By the shop?

What about having the wheel rotate up out of the way when the ignition is turned off and the drivers door opened?

Any other options that the consumer or shop can turn off or on?

Thanks,

Brake and Tires Problems by wondergal

Question regarding my 2003 G35... It has about 38000 miles, the front brakes and rotors have been replaced twice along with the rear break pads. This will make the second time, I have needed to replace the right rear tire, because it is bald. I spoke to a gentlemen over at America's Tires, and he recommended I buy 4 new tires that are all the same size, so I can rotate them. Is this okay to do? Please advise Thanks in advance.

You are lucky you got 17K out of your brake pads on your 05 G 35. My pads had to be changed at 11790 miles. One of the service managers at Pepe Infiniti in White Plains told me the brake pads in this car are designed to last 12,000 miles. On my last regular service visit, I was told I would probably need brake pads and new rotors at 18,000 miles. I wish I never bought the car!!!!!!!!!!!!or the 100,000 mile warranty.

The CD changer in my sedan stopped working the other day displaying a message on the display screen indicating that the system was detecting a disk error. I have removed all CD's and reinstalled with new and continue to get the same error. Has anyone had this same problem? What is fix if any?

Probably you will have to return to your dealer. That will be the best way to repair the unit, especially if you are still under the original warranty period.

I love my Avon's for the rear. Awesome tires, very highly rated on tirerack.com. Great buy too.

Bad belts or pulley? by area123

Had my 03 coupe checked at the dealer for a sort of growling noise seeming to come from a pully bearing on the front of the motor (mostly when cold). He assured me it was just the belts. But the belts looked in great shape to me (55k miles) and the noise only seemed to happen when cold. Anyway, for $140 I told him I'd replace the belts myself, just put them in the car.

Anyway, when I got the bill for all the other stuff, the belts were there but listed as warranty items, so no charge. Should the belt replacement have been a warranty item too? Seems strange that belts would be a warranty item but not the service to change them.

Besides that I don't think the belts will fix it so they'll end up getting this one back to replace a bearing or pulley or something anyway.

A reporter is interested in talking with consumers who have purchased All-Wheel-Drive vehicles, or would consider doing so next time they are in the market. Please respond to jfallonedmunds.com with your daytime contact information and a few words about your level of interest in AWD.

I have the Avon 550A/S 17s. They are my third set of tires after only 15,000 miles. My first two set of tires wore out in the rear middle treads after only 6-7,000 miles. The front of the Avons are already starting to feather on the front inside tread areas as all the Coupes do. I have not paid for any of my tires so I am not complaining about cost, however the Coupe's 3 weakest areas are Paint, brakes, and it's eating up tires.
