I have a 2000 Silverado and the spider gears went out in the rear end. There is a bolt/stud in the pinion shaft and it is sheared off and I can not get in out. I need to get it remaved to replace the gears. Any suggestions

I have a 2005 forester. When I check the oil I get a different reading on each side of the dipstick. The lower reading seems to indicate I am using about a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Which reading on the dipstick is correct-the high one or the low one? Is my oil comsumption too high?

| Where should post my question about Chev Astro IN-Tank fuel pump replacment? | |
I have a 94 Astro AWD 115k on clock garage kept. Recently in 17-degree weather it was hard starting. (for wife of course). Coincidently I have noted the sound of the in tank fuel pump has sounded slow and labored. checked fuel relay, that’s okay. I have never changed any fuel filter. Car runs fine, idle to full acceleration, no problem. Car is ‘Vacation Car’ taken to Canada twice yearly, must run good therefore I am proactive. I will now change fuel filter, and in-tank pump just because it is time. I’ve heard mumblings about not reusing tank hooks ‘n bolts because of critical necessity. I have further heard some replacement hooks are welded and perhaps not trustworthy. Any advice will be appreciated
