Lighten up...I really enjoyed the cars outselling trucks topic. It gave us a chance to talk about something that a lot of car enthusiasts have been waiting to happen for a couple years. People werent just talking about how SUVs suck, or the PT cruiser, they were talking about new developments in the car world that are coming as a result of a higher demand for cars. Please open it back up. |

| Hi! I'm new to Town Hall, and was thinking about starting a new discussion, but don't want a big ugly "Read Only" put next to it. What would you think of one called "The Perfect Car for a Teenager?" If its OK with you... | |

Hey, sounds like a good topic Although I understand the angst about IDLSWDY, this could have been quite different. Maybe we do need another different car vs SUV topic. JMO |

| Has anyone had or heard of any problems with the NEW 745i? (CPU shutting down car) | |
| why "Cars outselling trucks" was pulled. | |

to have rediculus topics(I got a great idea! lets have a topic to make funny road signs!), only as long as the hosts create them. The cars outselling trucks was a very legitimate topic to be discussed, and you shut it down because people were talking about the PT cruiser? Stupid idea. Snipers do not use shotguns. Take out what needs to be taken out, and leave the legitimate discussion. |

The way the TMV is set up is very misleading. You give prices of the lowest models of vehicles. I know it can be customized but this needs to be first, before seeing numbers. Example is a 2001 Escape.. you say its about 15K, this is for a stripped 4cyl model.. Add the V6 and more options and the resale jumps up to over 19K! This is the same for other vehicles... maybe time for a change? |

kw_carman - we've had a number of discussions on that subject, but they are all closed and archived right now. You can find them by typing "teenage" in the Search box. This will let you look through past conversations. Then you can either ask a host to open one of those up again, or start a new one. It certainly is a subject that is of frequent interest around here. fox15 - hop over to this link - BMW 7-Series. I have not seen any talk of the CPU shutting down the car, but that's the best place to ask. The I-Drive feature has been discussed at length there and in some of our discussions on the Sedans Comparisons board. To the folks looking for pf_flyer - I'm not sure where he is, but it is the weekend. And don't forget you have the option of e-mailing him. All of our profiles, including email addresses, are linked on the left side of this page. scape2 - there are several discussions about the TMV on our Smart Shopper board. You can find them by keying TMV into the search feature on the left side of the page. You also might like to use the Help link at the top of this page to provide feedback directly to the folks on Edmunds.com. Hope this is helpful. Pat Sedans Host |

If there's a legitimate discussion to be held on Cars Outselling Trucks, then we're certainly willing to discuss opening it back up. However, as li_sailor pointed out, if you pause for a moment you might be able to understand that, after being burned a few times on "my vs. your" topics, hosts might get the impression that it was a topic headed for nowheresville. <edit> -- just saw that it was re-opened. See, we hosts *can* be reasoned with kirstie_h Roving Host Edmunds.com |
