verozahl, I'll answer from my point of view -- We like to keep redundant topics to a minimum. If you look at the Sedans board, there's a whole section on comparisons. Thus, we don't need to duplicate an existing active discussion in News & Views, which is more of a new information-driven board. The Buick & Daewoo boards are NOT "versus" boards, and appear to have good conversation that doesn't simply consist of "my car can beat up your car" content. I agree that it's interesting information, but since there are already plenty of comparisons, down to the model level, on other boards, it's better to let those discussions thrive than to split those interested in the same discussion across several boards -- putting all the info in ONE spot! kirstie_h Roving Host Edmunds.com |

where can I direct this question? What exterior color would keep my car cool in the direct sun? I go to the beach a lot and my car is allways roasting. |

Very light exterior and interior colors...also the tint of the glass and the size of the glass on your car makes a difference. So a car with a large windshield, light tint and moonroof without a shade will heat up faster. Naturally, all dark colors absorb more heat, too. |

You can purchase a windshield shade that has a reflective side. I use one and it seems to help. I tried to find a current discussion where you can get input from other Town Hall members. Even if you don't have an SUV, you might check SUV for Beach Sand. KarenS Senior Host Owners Clubs |

for a pickup truck, and I was looking for a comparison on Ford F150 vs GMC Sierra vs Chevy Silverado, but I could find no such topic...I do NOT want to start a new topic, but did I miss one somewhere???... Bob |

I looked and found a couple of archived discussions sorta-kinda close, but not specifically to GMC, Ford, and Chevy. Perhaps pf_flyer/Pickups host knows of a current one?? Chevy Silverado vs Ford vs Dodge vs Toyota(Archived-6/01) Chevy VS GMC (Archived-10/01) Chevy Vs. Ford, Express your true feelings!!! (Archived-2/01) I found another one in the archives (Ford vs Chevy vs GMC vs Dodge), however it's from 1999. Not sure how much valuable info it would have now. You may have to bite the bullet and create one.

| If you want current opinions on pickups, the folks hanging out on the Pickups board will certainly give it to you. Just remember to sort out the chaff from the wheat! | |

encouragement, but I am fighting the urge to start a new topic...(sounding like a politician) that does not mean I won't start one, just trying not to do so...however, when "she who must be obeyed" wants something, and I really need to know the ups and downs of Ford v. Chevy/GMC, necessity (and my survival and marital bliss) may become the mother of invention... Bob |

Like Vero, whom I seldom agree with I thought the Honda-Toyota topic was a good one and was attracting plenty of discussion not of the "my car beats your car" type. I don't know why the "Cars outselling trucks" was shut down. To me that's a major development and I wasn't seeing a lot of "SUVs suck" posts (which I specifically discouraged in my intro). Lighten up, please. |
