My brother is trying to purchase one of these trucks but seems to be having a hard time to find one. I was just wondering if they are this hard to find all the time.

This is too much money to make compromises. My previous two trucks were off the lot, and I didn't have them more than 4 years. I ordered my 1996 Ram Cummins dually exactly to my specs, and I've now had it 8 1/2 years and 120,000 miles. Its replacement, a 2005 Ram Cummins dually, will also be ordered in about a month. kcram Host Smart Shopper and Wagons Message Boards |

I ordered a 2005 Ram back in mid May because the factory stopped taking orders on the 2004's at this time. My dealer said the order would probably make it in in early July and that the truck would probably come in during the end of August or early Sept. In mid August, my dealer got the VIN of my new truck from Dodge and within a few days he received confirmation (that he also showed me) that the Ram would be shipped on Aug 26. After waiting week after week, I went ballistic on my dealer yesterday. He was told by Dodge that all 2005 Rams are being held back for some kind of recall. (Might explain why no 2005 Rams have shipped yet...) Does anyone know what this "recall" is all about and whether Dodge will ever start shipping Rams again before the 2006 model year is upon us??? I know that my dealer is not yanking my chain.

They should be able to tell you where your truck is and when it should get to you, as well as any holds or delays. Known option delays are the sunroof and adjustable pedals - if you ordered either of those, it may be held up for that. kcram Host Smart Shopper and Wagons Message Boards |

There is definitely something going on at Dodge. I got the VIN in early August. I saw a "confirmed" delivery date to the dealer of August 26. Now I'm told that the truck has been sitting for 2 months and that it would be quicker to reorder a new truck. This sounds like either my order was hijacked by Dodge to ship out somewhere else or Dodge has a major quality problem and has two months worth of production rotting away somewhere. I'm getting tired of the run around.

| I'm looking at buying in the next few days and was wondering if anyone had purchased a new truck like this one recently. There aren't too many around here and the price competition is scarce. The first price given after rebates and with the Chrysler financing is $26,400. What do you think guys? | |
truck is loaded, with tube steps. sticker is 37,080. i got a quote for 30k. can anyone tell me if i can do better thanx
