Also, have to ask if improvements to the transmissions in these trucks were made for 08-09 model years? Seems like the trannys are the weakest link in these trucks, comes from personal experience and what Ive read in here. Thanks again!

Hello all,been on the jeep forum for years,new to this one.Lookin at trading in the libby diesel for a 2006 ram 2500 to tow my new trailer.about 6500 pounds.endines seem fine but what is with the tranny's?Any comments appreciated before I buy... Replying to: arvman (Jul 18, 2009 1:32 pm) Well, my '03 Cummins diesel Ram is still running just fine - only tranny trouble I ever had was a few years ago when the switch that completes the ignition circuit when the clutch pedal is pressed went out. I've never towed anything, but I took that truck cross country a few years ago and it's been nearly trouble free the entire time I've had it.
