posting information RE: auto-load leveling. That's very interesting and useful. I doubt if KIA could be as thorough. And thanks also to your e-mail friend, the former engineer at Toyota. And finally, thanks for the real-world report on KIA keys. I didn't think it has a chip, despite what others have posted. So it's reassuring that you know for certain we don't have to return to the dealer for extra keys. |

| Kia Service called me today 12/23 after engineering dept. called back...it is designed like that: after unlatching belt, light or bell will not come on... | |
| Placeman - I think I first asked this question to other Sorento owners to see if this is problem on my car. It turned out it is designed like that (also for the Spectra). I mentioned many times that I always wear seatbelt not only this is a law in MA. But it is my responsibility. I don't need anything to remind me to wear seatbelt. And I was clear about it. Some people think that I am making such as big deal on this issue. But some people think this is important. And why we have the warning lights for the doors, rear hatch? Why don't we have these lights come on only when these things break? For some people, they really need the dashboard (as an information provider and service reminder) to tell them what to do. BTW, you have a very good info on the auto load leveling. Happy motoring! | |

You people found someone to make a key for a Kia?!?!?!? Lucky you. We had to go back to the dealer, and pay $7.37 for a single Sportage key. Tell me what key they used... |

sounds like a good way to test if your ABS is working or not. I would only try that in very controlled circumstances or situations where there is no danger if the outcome is unexpected. |

| I imagine they are smaller to allow for more ground clearance when off-road. | |

It is not a stoppable offense in Taxachusetts.
If you are stopped for something else, and found not wearing a seat belt, you could be fined.
Sorry I couldn't find a better link, but this is the best I could do for now: |
|
| I don't know anything about the law. And I got no time for any legal research. But I wear my seatbelt just for my own safety. No matter when I am. Click it or ticket it, it is up to you to decide. Let's go back to the topic. Many people want to hear more about the Sorento. | |

mdsorento in #1477 told us about Sorento accessories from Cobra...THANKS! Unfortunately, their website says you have to be in Germany before you can order from them online. Additionally, they only list model year 2002 Sorentos (is that when Sorentos started selling in Europe and Korea?). Their USA distributor is Owens Classic Car International. I e-mailed them and this was their reply:
"As soon as we know if the items will fit the US Models, we do list them on the site. In many cases, the vehicles have slight differences because of standards. So what might fit a European model, may not fit a US model. |

| How did you remove the cross members on the roof rack? I've only made a half-hearted effort thus far; it seems like a 2-person job, yes? Any hints/tips you can give would save me from taking out the sledgehammer! Thanks! | |
