However, it's not just names that have changed, so has programming. I'll be interested to see what Karl Brauer, our resident 80s satellite radio channel expert, has to say about Sirius Big 80s becoming 80s on 8 -- he enjoyed the former, hated the latter.

I'm with Karl - 80s on 8 sucks. So does 70s on 7, both were better as the Sirius version. With all the changes I am, more than ever, on the cusp of cancelling Sirius altogether.

One thing holding me back is that the signal seems to have gotten stronger - I have a lot less cutouts under trees and freeway bridges now. Anyone else notice that, or is it just my wishful imagination?

I've noticed that too...around here there are a few tunnels, and I can go into the tunnel a ways before I lose signal, and I get it back well before I am out of the tunnel. I used to lose it quickly.

I noticed on a longish drive the other day the presets I have for defunct channels still display the name, but broadcast nothing. As if to rub it in.

Not your survival as your favorite channels change - the company's survival.

I'm sure Howard Stern's $500 Million(?) hasn't helped its financial situation.

Actually Stern earned $500 million plus an $82.9 million stock bonus.

It's unbelievable and unfathomable to me that someone can make $83 million in addition to $500 million for talking dirty on the radio.

Does anyone else miss XM channels like Fred or Lucy? I think the new combonation is lame- I'll give Alt Nation a maybe but I miss the old XM. XM channels seemed to have deeper music libraries - Sirius was more personality driven --- witness the sad Freddie Snakeskin.
