Ion ignition/wiring by annieb1

I have a 2005 Ion with consistant no-starts. It has been in and out of the dealer for repair 7 times within a month. First they replaced the ignition, then a few times they blamed it on wiring, now they have replaced the ignition again. Saturn liaison is not helpful, on the verge of rudeness and makes me feel as if it's my fault or either I am imagining the situation. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

When you turn the key, nothing happens or the starter works but the engine won't start?

sounds like the same problem I had with my first 2003 ION; intermittant rough or no starts. Dealer could not fix it - hopefully you will have better luck. For me it ended up replacing whole car under Saturn's 30 day warranty.

Installing Cruise Control by ranwags

Hello befor I graduated high school I sold my 95 S-10 and bought a salvage titled 2003 Saturn Ion. But now in my second year of college I one hour one way to school form my wife and I's house. My car does not have crusie control so when I was fixing it I bought the factory module for cruise control that goes under the dash. I fianlly decided to install it this past week but when I started looking there where no connectors included in the wiring harness that would allow the factory module to be connected. So I was wondering if anyone could give me any information on if it's possible to do and if so what wires is need to look for.
                                    Thank You,

I have a 2004 Ion with intermittant no-starts. I took it to the dealership and they couldn't find anything. Has anyone had any luck getting this fixed? This isn't the same problem I had with my 97 Saturn, where I had to mess with the steering wheel and the shift to get it to agree to start.

My son's 2003 has the same problem as yours. This usually happens in cold weather and is intermittent. Neither Saturn's or our mechanic could suggest a fix. Have you heard of a solution?

Starting Problem by seloo

My daughter has a 03 ION that we purchased used from a private party. The previous owner gave me the maintenance records. At around 30K miles the previous owner went to the Saturn Dealer complaining of a intermittent starting problem. The dealer claims that the under the hood fuse box was loose (causing the car to lose ground) the mechanic tighten the box and declared the problem resolved. The car has 55K miles and we have not experienced any problems with intermittent starting. I hope this helps someone.

Good Luck.

2004 Saturn Ion check engine light by mcgerisc

I have a 2004 Saturn Ion with 19880 miles on it. The check engine light keeps coming on. I have replaced the gas cap, per dealers request, two times now and it has not helped. I let them keep the car all day and they did a smoke test and they replaced the fuel sensor. I drove it the next day and the check engine light came back on. Has anyone else had a similar experience??? Any suggestions???
