Just traded in a 2005 f250 6.0 Super Duty for a '07 F150 4 door Lariat(4X4). Couldn't be happier after a 1,000 mile roundtrip to go to a college graduation and loaded it with a dorm room full of stuff and furniture. It is QUIET(5.4 Triton), smooth riding, comfortable, roomy, efficient, etc.
The fit and finish is great. This is our fourth Ford product. We've owned a '96 Explorer, '99 F250 7.3 Super Duty and the '05 F-250 6.0(problem truck).

I'm tired of debating back and forth with these RAM and SILVERADO owners.Time to talk with people that don't constantly disagree. I have a Ford lightning for about a year 2003 with 43,000 miles. Want to here about some suggestons for performance mods.

Need some advice... I'm faced with the option of purchasing a new 2006 F-150 SuperCrew Lariat 4x4, or a new (last one on the lot) 2005 F-150 SuperCrew Lariat 4x4. At face value, one would think that I can cut a much better deal on the 2005 (thinking that the dealer wants to get rid of last year's model), but I'm uncomfortable with buying something that's already a year old (with commensurate devaluation). Yet another option would be to wait until October for the 2007 model. Which option is best? Should I price out the 2005 as a "used" vehicle with 100 miles on it, or what? Anyone else faced this dilemma?

I am a certified ford sales consultant for Bubba Oustalet Ford in Jennings, La. The best thing to do in your situation is go with your gut. If the dealership will take off as much as $10k off of the 05, that's a great deal because your actual cash value of the vehicle will definitely be worth more than what you paid. The only thing, the 06 is brand smelling new truck new, you tell me what is it worth or is it actually worth all that money to have brand new. Put it this way, if you are going to keep your truck until the world ends, the 05 is the way to go but if you get rid of it within the next 3 years, buy the 06. Oh by the way call me if I can sell you an 06, thanks.

Lets say you drive 15K per year. A year from now with 05 you will have a low milage 05 instead of an average mile 06

You are correct about the miles. Also, the salesman was correct--if you're going to keep the truck for a long time, it won't matter that you bought it a year old.

Apparently the gentlemen DID get 10K off MSRP (see post #3). I hope you really don't think that his "..actual cash value will definetly be worth more than what you paid". If you do, can we get his address so your dealership could send him a check and buy this now used vehicle?

Incidentally, is there really a dealership named Bubba Oustlet Ford or is this some kind of Cajun joke?
