If you are thinking of buying a new mid-size sedan then you have a decision to make. The Toyota gives you a great ride, excellent fuel mileage, awesome engine, great tech package for a good price. On the other hand the exterior is pretty ugly compared to the Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima. Even the Accord has a better front facia. I ended up buying the Camry mainly because of the practicality and value. If you want looks then this is def. not the car for you. I thought that Nissan Altima had better handling and sportier feel but it had a very loud engine noise and the engine felt strained at higher gears. Honda Accord was between the Altima and Camry in handling but it had a lot of road noise. Sonata and Optima would be great except I don't like their engine, its not a VVT-i. I have had 2 2001 toyota corolla's with this engine type from Toyota and I have to say that its been reliable and trustworthy even with lots of abuse over the years. Also if you are looking at prices other than the Korean's all the other car companies start their GPS tech package at a higher level that hits closer to 27500 OTD. You may be able to get a Accord V6 at this price level with leather seats and navigation. But that was 2100 more than my budget and I wanted a fuel efficient car. That is no V6. At that point the camry with 25100 OTD was unbeatable value.

It’s very hard to find 2010-2011 SE.. I checked many dealers nearby. They each have at least 10 LE… one or two SE… And most of them are 2008-2009. Found one 2010,
Super White, 20K miles with black leather interior. They are asking $18,900. I might have to wait for 2010-2011 models.

Thanks… Investing $20-25K.. No to Korean Manufactured Cars. But like their tires (Hankook/Kumho)… Nissan/Honda can’t match the ride and handling of Toyota.

Best advise I ever got for car shopping. Japanese cars have good resale values meaning they are overpriced if you are buying used. German cars have poor resale value meaning they are overpriced new. Buy a 2012 Passat in a few years and you will get awesome value. Don't buy a 2012 camry in a few years used because it will sell for 4 or 5k below what they bought it for new while Passat will be selling for 8k to 9k below value. Why pay 3 or 4k premium on a used car. I love Toyota but since 2008 most car companies have matched toyota for reliability.

Yes that is true… you will be paying less and taking big headache... It will be like a FORD >> Fixed or repaired daily : )
 
Also Mitsubishi have poor resale value… My brother bought 97 Galant ES 40K miles in 99 for $8,000 from a dealer.. Awesome car.. nice ride.. tranny went down 59K … fixed under warranty… car was totaled due to an accident… That model Galant have problem with belt designs.. I don’t know which belt.. but used to make so much noise from 60K

I agree that most manufacturers have very high reliability to the point were there is not a huge difference like there used to be.
 
If you believe the latest JD Powers 3 year dependability just released, Toyota still beats just about everyone - #1 Lexus, #2 Porsche, #3 Cadillac & Toyota.
