I have not finalized anything yet. I did receive a quote about 150-200 dollars less, around $19,420 from a competing dealer. That is with the stability control option, which adds about $520 to the invoice. My understanding is that, generally speaking, you can do about $1,000 better on the West Coast. Sounds to me like that quote you received is a good one, as long as they are not adding on any bogus fees or shorting you on a trade. Others here know a lot more than me, though . . .

you can definately do better on east coast than $19,400, try to get online quotes from the car purchasing websites.

I just got back from purchasing a Silver 4 door LE Camry (automatic transmission) with carpet mats. I bought the vehicle from Rice Toyota in Greensboro, NC. They sold me the car for $17995 plus tax, tag and fees. My out the door price was $19100 which was about $800 lower than any other NC dealers were willing to do. Definitely a buyers market right now. Thanks to everyone on this site who helped me get a great deal!!! The fitzmall.com site was very helpful also. I hope my post helps other buyers get good deals as well. I look forward to enjoying my new car in the new year.

Hello All,
This board has been a very great resource for car buyers. Thanks all for your help. I'm looking for a new 2009 Camry LE basic with Vehicle stability control. and i have a quote from CarMax of $19,338 + tax, tags, title and $99 dealer processing charge. I want to know if this a good price. All other local dealers in baltimore are atleast $800 higher. Thanks for any help.

Off the top of my head without looking up the real numbers, VSC adds about 500-600 MSRP to the vehicle. See above recent posts to see going rates of base models.
