I quoted 5 dealers in west suburb, the best offer is from Elgin Toyota.

LE 4cyl auto, $19000 + $720 ( destination ) + TTL .
Then you can choose $750 cash back or 0% finance.

Other dealers are $100 - $300 more.

$19000 is about $370 below invoice. Not bad, but not as good as CA. There as above post, it is $17500 ( I don't know whether $17500 include deliever fee or not. I think it has include cash back incentive already).

It seems the price hold well in chicago area, toyota dealers are not hurry to sell the inventory yet.

If you are a good negotiator, I blieve you can get price down $200 ~ $300. But hard to get much better.

Good luck

Here in So. Cal., $17,500 or less before TTL is the price you pay and includes all delivery, rebates, and dealer discounts. It is in the borderline to drop to $16,999 for I4 LE auto very shortly, probably in the next two weeks or so, due to slower economy, excessive inventories, extreme competition, (we have more than 100 Toyota dealers in the Los Angeles vicinity area, the most in the United States), and 2010 Camry will be arriving at early February 2009. Southern California will get the 2010 Camry first. Unlike in Chicago, the southern California Toyota dealers are desperate to sell lots of Camrys. I've seen several people fighting while waiting in lines before dealership opens. In April 2002, my parents had to wait more than 5 hours in line before the Toyota dealer opened for a $16,999 Camry I4 LE auto, and that was 7 months after the 2002 Camry launch date.

$19,797 (or $18,797) from Longo Toyota . I'm glad to hear that my deal from Longo Toyota, which I paid $18,600 after $1,000 rebate, isn't any worse than other buyers, as most southern California Toyota dealers are selling for only less than $17,500, although I still feel I overpaid and probably will give Longo Toyota a sucky rating once the Toyota survey reaches into my mailbox..

If dealer sell one camry just $17000, dose dealer still earn money on this car? How much is the bottom line?
I am very curious.

I think dealer in CA can save part of the delivery fee($720) as profit. Based on edmunds.com, the invoice of a camry LE 4 cyl auto is $19376. Remove the dealer hold back. There still has a big gap between $17000 and $19376.

I just bought an 09 LE 4cyl in the low 18's plus 2.9 financing. Beware that most, if not all, quotes on this site will include the 1000 Toyota rebate, which means you will not be able to finance at the promotional rates.

Also beware that many dealers are unwilling to offer the special financing rates after simply adding back onto the price the 1000 rebate. This was specifically the case with Toyota of Orange after they quoted me $17,565, which is a pretty good price for someone paying cash. Problem is I suggested low 18's with 2.9 financing and received a flat rejection. Instead, the dealer offered me 7% financing in insisting they would not honor Toyota's special finance rates for such a low priced car. No thanks.

Bottom line is, one should read with a grain of salt all of these super low price posts. Invoice of a Camry LE is, as stated, 19,300. If you can buy a Camry with special financing at 1000+ under invoice.. I'd say you did pretty good.

Elgin Toyota is the best dealership I have ever been into. I bought 2 Hybrids from them, the first at MSRP, a Prius, it was the only one available and it just came off the truck with 3 miles on it. I bought an extended warranty with it, figuring the car is mostly electronic, and one repair could easily cost well over$1000. I got 2.9% on it since it was also the last day of special interest on a Prius. A day later after getting the car home, I discovered I could get the extended warranty for $820 instead of the $1950 they charged, so I called back wanting to cancel it, instead they dropped the price down to $790 and sent me a check for the difference. Cant beat that, so I went back a year later and bought a Camry Hybrid for $28500, including TTL. That was the full out the door price. The sticker was ~$28380. In addition they found me low interest financing and the bank they dealt with sent me a $1000 debit card for buying a hybrid. They also have a very good service department, they have several hybrid techs on staff. They know how to move cars, and move a lot of them. The Saturday before I bought the Prius, they had 8 n the lot, by Monday all were sold. I just happened to be there at the right time to get the Prius I got. If you work them through their web sales department, negotiate by asking for out the door pricing including tax Title License and fees, so when you walk in, you know what it will cost to drive out. I went that route with the Camry, they had one on the website, I sent them an email asking for this car, OTD w/TTL for 28,500, which to me seemed fair for a TCH, they replied 30 minutes later saying they could do it. 3 hours later, I had a new car. I will always recommend Elgin Toyota.

Hi guys,

I received a quote of 18,788+TTL for this car and I am paying cash. Is this a good price? Thanks in advance!

I think you should be able to do better.

I just bought one yesterday for around 18,000 and financed on the 2.9% special apr. This was a "loss leader" car, advertised in the newspaper on Friday morning.

If I were you, and if possible, I would wait until next weekend, check the Friday paper, and see if there are any LE's on special. Regardless, if you wait a few days and tell the dealer you think you can do better--especially on a cash purchase--he'll probably drop his price as well.

Good luck, these are excellent cars, even coming from a BMW.

Also, for what it's worth, I received a firm quote from Toyota of Orange for $17,565 for an 09 LE 4 cylinder. The reason I didn't go with them was because they refused to offer 2.9 financing--even at a price 1000 more than this. But if you were shopping cash, this is a pretty good price considering your color selection would not be limited to the few cars on special.
