I started looking in October but I put it off because, I figured prices would have to come down. And I read about the transmission problems in 2007s and 2008s. Do the 2009 have the save issues? I live a little north of Pittsburgh. The deal closest to Baierl me has some of the highest prices in the state. They are in the Costco's program, but I think that just brings them closer to in line with out dealer. I went to the BuyToyota.com site and it side there is a $1000 rebate for "qualified" buyers in my zip code. How could I not qualify for a rebate? The rebate runs until Dec. 1, 2008. I check a few zip codes in Ohio and the rebate did not show up there. I check two in Maryland. The $1000 rebate was listed for the Maryland zips I checked. I saw posts about the auto malls near DC. I've never been to an auto mall. What is it like? What are the disadvantages of going to an auto mall? It would be about a 280 mile drive for me. Is it worth it? My car got rejected for state inspection, It will cost $550.00 to get repairs done with labor and parts. I've got a high mileage 2002 Camry with 112,000 on it and a lot of little dings. The Edmund's trade in says to worth ~$3000 with out inspection pass and ~$4200 with. The blue book trade values were lower like 3,800 with the repairs and inspection sicker. Is it worth getting the repairs done or should I just get drive of it as is?

I have seen several southern California members get some pretty great prices on the Camry LE. I am in San Diego. I am looking for one myself, but am being roadblocked by dealers -- even their internet departments; I've repeatedly had the "best price" quote to be in the ballpark of 19,000. Any suggestions or referrals?
