As per many individuals I spoke with, nearly all of them got their vehicles with about 4-6 miles. Some had no more than 10 miles. I would not accept a vehicle with more than 10 miles, it leaves questions. Were they using that vehicle for test drives or a demo car from another dealership. Mia9, I would not have accepted a car with 200 miles, sounds like a demo. A demo vehicle, almost everyone hammers the vehicle during test drives. Bottom line, when you go to pick up your vehicle, you should look it over with a fine tooth comb, because once you sign acceptance of delivery and drive off, its yours. We did this for our 04 SE V6, it had fine scratches on the clear coat, interior color was wrong and the Nav. system did not have the cassette as promised. We refused delivery, and to compensate us for the inconvenience the dealership is selling us the newly ordered car at their cost. Also, it had 11 miles on it, and as per Toyota of California the vehicle departed from Kentucky with 2 miles on the odometer. So it was driven approx. 9 miles at the dealership. I pointed all these infractions to the general manager who is now dealing directly with us.

I have an offer for a Demo car which has 10,000 miles. The offer is $22,000.00 no fees. Is this a good price. The car was supposedly driven by two salesmen. It appears to be in excellent condition but my question is why isn't this car considered to be a certified vehicle as opposed to a Demo? are Demo really worth the money? I would appreciate any assistance on this one.

A dealer is offering to sell a 2003 Camry LE V6 Auto ( Sunroof, CD Changer, Keyless entry ) with almost 12000 miles on it for $17650. Is that a good price?

10000 miles on a demo I would probably not buy, what is the actual discount you're getting? (what would the same car cost brand new with no fees?) demos can be abused during test drives to test the engine, brakes etc.

Need a big favor. What is the best way to shop for a new 2004 Camry LE 4 Cyl Automatic with ABS, security upgrade, mat and mud guards. Should I send an email to every dealership and ask for quote. Any suggestion? I am in Oklahoma. Seems to me the price in OK is always higher than other places. I would not mind going to KS, TX or even MO at all. Any good deal among these states. Please advice.

seems to me buying a 4 cylinder camry LE should not require having to travel too far---

it's a plain jane camry-- nothing special...

if anything, i'd go at end of month if there's no real hurry-- but offering a little over invoice seems reasonable. $200 over invoice, right?

or, just read what people are paying by reading posts here, and offer right around that price.

it isn't calculus. am i nuts?

finding a 4 cylinder camry with ABS is not that easy...check the dealer's web sites online, by now they should have a website with the prices, try to find the the dealership that has your car first(or go to toyota.com and find the dealerships)..BTW mudguards don't come on a camry, a dealer can install it afterwards...I guess you can always just order it from kentucky with the exact setup you want

find the invoice of the car(not MSRP) with the options you want at a site like costco.com, auto services and offer no more than $300 above invoice
it would help your negotiation if the car is on the lot and not be a special order

Advertising Fee by mia9

Does anyone here know something about advertising fee? I look through most of the posts here and found out most people didn't pay the advertising fee.

I saw the dealer's invoice which has the advertising fee. I asked him to waive it and he told me that he cannot do it because he paid this to Toyota and I need to pay him back.

Why there is such a big difference between dealer's invoice and the invoice I found from Edmund or Kelly blue book?

Thanks for your suggestions.

In NJ, the only Camry LE 4s on the lot are with ABS and floormats, or ABS and the sunroof upgrade package. So, ABS is easy or hard to find, depending on where you are. The LE 4 auto/ABS/floormats stickers for about $20,880. Go to carsdirect for appropriate pricing in your area.
