This probably is TOTALLY unrelated... but if you're in the DC area, do NOT buy from Darcars (Frederick, MD). Bad experience, in which the end I walked out

I just drove home my fully loaded 2008 TCH and the dealer would not budge on the MSRP price of 31,168. I would say 27,984 would be a great price.

Yes, the freight was included in the $27,984. The dealer is located in York, Pennsylvania.

A reporter from a national newspaper is hoping to talk to consumers who purchased a car recently instead of waiting, fearing that prices may rise as the dollar weakens. Please reply to ctalatiedmunds.com no later than Monday, October 1, 2007 with your daytime contact info.

I've been told by the moderator to put comments like that in the Dealer Ratings & Review section (see edmunds.com splash page).

But anyway, I've heard lots of similar stories about darcars in general (doesn't seem to matter which badge). I was trying to do a negotiation with the Frederick store over the internet and while at first very interested, the sales guy started getting combative so I just baled out. Who needs that? And I don't recall that I lobbed any hand grenades or anything....

Sorry, Im rather new... and couldnt find where to put my remarks about certain dealerships. Any chance you could post a link?

Also, since I will be buying soon - could you tell me the "process" of negotiating car prices through email/ online? I have only attempted on the phone (which I have always failed), and of course in person.

Thanks!

What are people's thoughts on a quote of 18476 + TTL for a 2008 Camry CE Automatic? I can get an additional $400 for College Grad discount and may consider negotiating the holdback be 'heldback' from me....

I would think that's an awesome deal ... cause the lowest I've been getting is 19000 ... but I'm new at this thing!
