A reporter would like to speak to owners who purchased a Honda or Toyota but didn’t consider purchasing a domestic vehicle (specifically Ford or GM vehicle). Please respond to ctalatiedmunds.com no later than July 24, 2007 with your daytime contact information.

TCH in DC by jhs70

Hi. I'm in the hunt for a TCH in the Wash DC/metro area. The best I've been able to do is about 450 over invoice. I had one dealer at invoice, but I didn't care for the color. Anyone done any better? Yes, I've checked Fitz so I have a general sense of what their prices are.

In reality, prices in this area are all over the board. Had quotes of MSRP all the way down to invoice. And a range of really great salespeople all the way down to complete and utter arrogant *s. Crazy market on the 07s right now.

Thanks.

Is that the final price before tax or do you have to pay the destination fee? Either way, that's a great deal. I wanted badly to get rid of my old junk so when I got 1000 below sticker and an extra 500 more for the junker, I was a happy camper. Looking back though I think I could have probably gotten a little more off, but that might have been a tough bargain with the trade.

I wonder if you would get a better bargain when the 08 hit the lot?

2007 Camry LE V6 in Seattle by mikel12

Hi. I'm seriously thinking of buying the base model of LE V6 in Seattle. If anyone recently bought one, could you tell me the price/quote/dealer, etc? If not, anyone know which dealer 'might' have the best price in town?

Thanks.

The price I quoted includes destination, but is pre-tax, pre-TTL.

When the 08s hit the lot, they will be going for MSRP, maybe higher (if the price of oil, and therefore, gas keeps going up). And I doubt whether there will be many deals on the 07s. These cars are simply hot right now.

Am on list for 2008 TCH by talmy1

Locally (Portland, OR area) there are a few loaded 2007 TCHs on the lots but no basic models (I don't want NAV, leather, or even the moonroof -- I'm tall). Seems to be the opposite of what I've read of people's experiences on this site.

Anyway, I've reserved a basic Barcelona Red 2008 TCH, due at the end of August (if the earthquake doesn't delay it). Still in time to get at least some Federal tax credit. They don't have the pricing yet, but it will be a little below 2008 MSRP.

Got an offer of $28,600 (not including TTL) for a loaded TCH, with the NAV, moonroof, leather (but not the 50th anniversary). MSRP is $30,900 or so, invoice is $27,500. How is this deal?

I got mine for $27,300 before taxes with the same options. I got lucky because they said they were trying to keep the cars moving. Also had a recent college graduate discount. If you are a veteran they also offer a discount....but it's getting further into the summer and soon the 2008 models will be coming out...whoever is selling you that car is trying to hold onto whatever they can get before they have to start giving out great deals to make way for the 2008 models. Tell them you want a good deal or go somewhere else. And make sure to submit what you're looking for on the internet. It will get lots of local dealers to contact you with offers and since it's an internet offer, they know that you will be talking to lots of other people. You're bound to get a good deal out of that. Also...go in with no preferences (other than you want the fully loaded prebuilt model that comes with leather, NAV, etc...all these things come prebuilt...don't let them tell you otherwise...things that aren't prebuilt are things like the security system, cameras for backing up and the sensor when you back up). The more preferences you have, the worse off you are for a bargaining situation....pretend like you really haven't calculated out the costs and it seems a bit pricey for you but that's what you really want...I didn't have a preference on car color (one of the biggest things they get you on) and so I ended up with silver...which I hated because my family is like the silver car mafia...but it's grown on me and I love my car

hope this helps
