Hi everybody, I'm in the process of collecting quotes from some local dealers online, and I wanted your opinions. The 4-cyl SE camrys come in basically one feature set here in southern california. The only options added are: Floor Mats Rear Spoiler Sunroof (I don't want it, but they ALL come that way here) MSRP I've been quoted several times is $24,099. Southbay Toyota quoted $22,190. Longo Toyota quoted $22,000. Carson Toyota quoted $21,109. I'm digging that last one. Believe he said it was $500 under invoice. Should I jump at this? Thanks for the help!

Replying to: boli74 (Jul 01, 2007 9:50 am) However, the salesperson at Fitzmall (I've told him I intend to buy from there but I want a 2008 TCH) said sometime around late August-beginning of September. I hope that he is correct. It's frustrating that we're here at the beginning of July and there is very little info on when the 2008s will be coming out. |

I recently test drove the Corolla S Auto and Camry CE 2.4 Auto and i prefer the Camry over-all. The OTD price quoted was $18,549 1. Extra Value Package 2. Side & Curtain Airbags 3. ABS Package 4. All Weather Package 5. Floor mats The OTD price quoted for the Camry CE was $20,155 The internet people whom I dealt with, showed that both these prices are $1,000 under dealer invoice and include the ff: 1. 7.75% NV tax 2. $399 Doc fee (i.e. seems standard across all dealers here) 3. $28.25 Title fee 4. $199 - Vehicle Etching & Registration (i.e. they claim that all of their cars have these) huh? The monthly payments for these two cars are about $25 +/- apart, thats why i'm really inkling towards the Camry I want to ask for your opinion, specially those who are well versed in the pricing of these cars, whether these quotes are any good, a rip-off or should i bargain for less. Thanks in advance to those who will respond. |

First time seriously looking at Toyotas. I knew their pricing structure was different from other mfgrs, but really saw the downside. The distributor system (middleman) drives how they outfit the cars and add their dealer-packs at the port or distributor lot. You get stuck with options you don't need which are probably split between the distributor and dealer. I've never paid for a dealer pack before anywhere, but there wasn't much room there. e.g. $349 for $15 worth of "sealer" and material. Too little room to negotiate. Went across the highway and found a Nissan built the way I wanted for the listed Edmunds invoice. (dealers always have consumer invoices they'll show you, but usually is more closely related to the TMV prices) Dealers make plenty of money with holdback and incentives. I'm not leaving anymore on the table than that. |
