BEWARE BUYERS IN MD Area -BAD Toyota Dealer by yashm

was dealing with the dealer in my local area i.e. Russel Automotive Group. 6624 BALTIMORE NATIONAL PIKE BALTIMORE, MD . This is my worst experience dealing with a dealer.
I spoke with the sales guy and Manager and even GM. THe General Manager (GM) was the rudest of all. They agree in writing for a price and later changed it when I wanted to purchase the vehicle. I have it in writing a price from them and when I agree to purchase they said, it would cost more by $1000. This is cheating the customer. It is unfair business practise. It is not ethical at all.
I am really disappointed at the way I have been treated and if toyota dealers treat customers like this the amount of time it has taken toyota to become no 1 in USA i.e 50 years, it would probably take 100 times less to become the worst company in USA.

Please be very very careful in dealing with Russel Group. They do sell other brand s of vehicle as well. their website is www.rcars.com

Why is it a dumb post? Appears that the dealer raised the price by $1000. when the customer went in to buy the car. Am I reading this wrong? And if indeed that's what happened, I'd be pissed off also and want to let as many people know about that scummy dealer as I could.
Someone please correct me if I read the previous post wrong.

How many days before you were ready to buy, did they give you the previous lower price in writing? And was it for a specific car VIN #, and when you were ready to buy was it the same VIN# or a different car?

yashm has posted this at least 4 times in different threads and 3 of those were pulled.

Yashm does not indicate how far in advance the 'written' quote was for (could have been in prior month or end-of-year special, for all we know), does not indicate whether this was on the same specific car (could have quoted a base LE initially, and now the one on the lot has alloy wheels and spoiler), the engine light could now be on for his trade, etc.

I suspect when emotions are put aside, there are more facts to this situation which will shed a little different light.

For all we know, the dealer tried to take him for an extra $1000 and didn't live up to his agreement.

Camry Hybrid Purchase in DC Area by choateward

Hi all,

Thanks to this forum, once I made up my mind to buy a TCH, I knew that Fitzmall would be the measuring stick I'd use to compare against other deals offered, and I suspect that competition is good for us in the DC area. Since we're on the eastern side of Montgomery County, we stopped by DARCARS first to look over the car, test drive, etc, and see just how competitive their prices would be. To my happy surprise, I was able to get a similarly equipped car for a slightly better price than offered at Fitzmall ($300 below invoice), although I believe their approach was to make back the money on my trade-in, as they originally offered about 1/2 the KBB value of the car. Fortunately, I had printed my KBB evaluation (and was willing to walk away from the deal) so I was able to get a reasonable trade-in.

Anyway, here are the specifics:
Toyota Camry Hybrid
no NAV, cloth interior, moonroof MSRP $27989, invoice $25597, internet price $25300 (plus tax, tags, $100 processing)

I'll admit, the dealership is a little disorganized, and I suspect its a dealership that preys on those who aren't well informed (I made clear that I'd been researching internet deals from the outset, without going into particulars of the other dealership sites I'd visited), but for those in the area willing to do a little more work, I think a good TCH deal can be made there. As a bonus for us, since that's our "local" dealer, its probably the place we'll go for any specific dealer service (at least at first).

Sine a trade was involved there is no way to asertain the price of the Camry......What really matters is that you are satisfied.
