Replying to: 07xle (Oct 30, 2006 3:27 pm) I'm negotiating mine in Memphis,TN(Camry Le 4cyl with moonroof package) The least invoice i have seen is 19,685 (something like that). I have been to performance toyota and he initially told me the price would 22,899(inclusive of all taxes). Today he told me i can take the available color(Silver) for 22,000. But I wanted Magnetic Gray exterior so i didn't go for it. |

I am looking for an XLE 4cyl with leather in New Jersey. Is this combination going to be difficult to find? How much over invoice are others being offered. The one dealer I went to in New Brunswick showed me the Edmunds true value pricing which was pretty much at full sticker. This is the first time I can remember a dealer actually showing the customer edmunds pricing. Find it hard to believe that any Camry would go for sticker. Of course they only had about 5 in stock.

Replying to: rutger3 (Oct 31, 2006 10:34 am) That's because it's showing full sticker as the true value. If it showed a large discount he'd never mention it. Edmunds "True Value" is not always applicable. For every 2 dealers wanting MSRP there is one out there discounting and that does not always show up in their averages. Anyone who pays MSRP on a car that will get heavy discounts in a year (after the flush of people wanting the newest thing) will get stuck with a car that depreciates much more than if they wait or if they go ahead and shop around for a deal. I'd never pay MSRP for anything other than the hybrid and that's only to meet the tax credit deadlines. The "regular" Camry plans to sell about 400,000 vehicles. That's not a limited quantity and it will be if not already discounted heavily. Go out of state if you have to, check out a mid sized town where competition between brands is more important for their survival. |

Replying to: 07xle (Oct 30, 2006 3:26 pm) Dealer Invoice for base car is $22603 (which includes shipping of $620). Leather (the L2 Upgrade not the LA) is $1100. VSC is $520. Mats are $126. Wheel Locks are $37. Etching of VIN is $52. Stripes are $59. Gold Package is about $250. So total Invoice (and I know there are holdbacks, whatever) comes to $24,747. I went to five different dealers. He was the lowest. So, the question is, and I understand if you don't like the price you can walk away, but if I wanted the Camry I ended up giving him about 4% over Invoice, and way under Edmunds TMV, though I think their TMV does a disservice to site users. What do you think would have been a fair price? And, more importantly, do you think you could have gotten it?
