I purchased a 07 Camry SE V6 from my local dealership in Beaverton Oregon on 9/14/06. MSRP on the vehicle was $31,200. Financing was secured through my local credit union with an interest rate of 6.39%. I don't like wasting time haggling over prices with salesmen so I used my Costco auto broker to get a no haggle price of $28,480. With both price and interest rate secured, I only had to deal with the ID10T finance manager. She tried and tried to get me signed up for a VERY expensive extended warranty, and a plethora of other useless sprays, sealers and coatings. I said no to everything and she looked at me like I was hurting her feelings. It was a classic moment, and I just had to laugh. In the end I wrote an $8,480 check for the down payment and financed an even $20,000 with a monthly payment of $391. Beaverton Toyota gives you free oil changes for life, and this is my second vehicle purchased from them. Overall experience rating 9 out of 10

Just started looking at 2007 Camry and followed my usual procedure of internet research on actual invoice prices, e-mails to dealers checking inventories, getting equipment lists etc. so as to compare apples to apples. I made a couple of general inquiries abot price and one dealer quouted 4 cyl. xle for $27,319 with MSRP of $27,619.Another quouted $28,513 for 6 cyl. XLE with MSRP of $29,633. Before I reply to them, can't a person buy such a car for certain amount over invoice? Example: invoice on $27,619 vehicle is about $24,400. Can I buy one for $400 or $500 over invoice anywhere? We have family in Chicago and Nashville, Tn. so I can drive elsewhere. Help!!!!

The reason they are discounting them is they have already shown off the 07G with new styling. That typically hurts sales of the old ones left on the lot. Still at $28K (assuming you can get one at that price), the G is an excellent car. |
