If it includes state tax, tag, title, registration...you have a nice deal for this time frame of year after the 07's hit the market.

Not knowing your state or it's sales tax percentage, it's hard to know what the dealer will make on your deal...but it's pretty good.

I'm getting to get a 07 Camry tomorrow.
Does dealers accept cash as a down payment (about 15K)?
I didn't have time to make a deposit.
Thanks...

Any person would take cash. Anytime you use cash over 10k, you will have to fill out a large currency transaction paper though.

'07 camry le, auto trans, no options. had a quote for 19500 from a green bay dealer and sent $500 personal check yesterday. this morning i got a quote of $18833 from a place in milwaukee good only til wednesday 4/19. says to pick a color, put down a deposit and its good to go. states there is a free 10 yr, 100K warranty. this is verging on too good to be true.

I am really debating between the 4 cyl 5spd auto or V6 6 spd auto. The V6 w/6 spd auto is only 2 mpg EPA est apart from the 4 cyl. If it can achieve those numbers, it is worth the investment for me. Anyone who closes a deal on a V6 auto, please stop by the real world mpg page and give us some feedback. Thanks

I think that city driving with a lot of stop and go driving will show a 4-5 mpg difference. All highway will be closer to the 2 mpg EPA difference.

Depends on your driving conditions and or how much you want to stop light race.

What are the specifications of this Camry, e.g. 4cly, options? For reference a 2006 SE with spoiler, alloy wheels, sunroof, and JBL stereo typically sold for $19K. I realize I'm comparing the last generation to the current one ... however I don't think the price should differ significantly.

I hope that was sarcastic. Obviously the older generation will be deeply discounted since they are deemed 'less desirable' and need the discout. If oyu can buy a 2007 for the same price as the equal trim/options level of a 2006, you are either getting the deal of a lifetime on the 2007 or gettgin ripped of on the 2006. Guess which is more likely the case?

I hope it all works out for you. May I share one caveat and offer one piece of advice for you? When dealer offers are very different as has happened for you, shift to an OTD (out the door) price as the figure of negotiating. Some will offer numbers that include destination fees, some will not.....watch for this! An OTD is exactly that and if you get to the settlement table and the figure differs from what was negotiated, WALK!

Always use a credit card for deposits as they can be easily cancelled if needed. Once the dealership has your money, it is very difficult to get it back without buying a car from them. This is one way many dealers take the buyer's leverage away.
