You are welcome to post the dealership name, city & state - just no references to specific salespeople. See the red lettering right above the "post a message" box:

Just bought a 2006 XLE and love the car. However, I find the seat buckle apparatus on the driver's side to be incredibly uncomfortable. I'm been driving for forty years and have never had a problem with any other seatbelt. I've only driven 200 miles but actually dread driving because of the buckle. Has anyone else had a problem with this and, if so, what did you do? My dealership says "nothing can be done."

I bought my car from Gene Reed. Horrible expereince all around. Please see my post (a LTjg's tale).

After talking to West Ashley on the phone they seem pretty reasonable compared to Reed, but who really knows.

Hope this helps, let me know what you decide, perhaps I can hlep you on getting the best price since I am now an expert after the fact.

I'm curious to know which one you thought was sleazy, perhaps they both are.

Thanks for the information - you must be referring to Gilroy Toyota (do I win a prize?) That dealership is too far down for me though. You got a good price on the LE -4. There were quotes in N. California 19.9k, and 19.7k, but not what you got. Did this include destination or any other charge?

I got a quote of 19.1k plus TTL on a CE (no mats or keyless entry or power seats).

I have been pricing a 2007 SE with the 4. There are not many in the area and all are equipped with the JBL upgrade and the moonroof. List $24,709. One dealer said he may be able to get $600 off that price, another was going to sell it for $23,377. I finally tried the Costco plan and the price quoted is $22,977. For you Costco members it may be worth looking into when it comes time to pull the trigger.

West Ashley has always had the rep for being the sleazy Toyota dealership in town. I was actually planning on purchasing from Gene Reed. Thanks for the heads up, though. I'll be even more cynical when I go.

I suppose it could be that both of them are skeezy.

Sorry you had to go through that. But congrats on your new car.
