Since then a number of folks have asked you regarding that on this forum. We all know that Toyota is ending the disocunts on 2006 camry in a couple of days. It is only fair for you to update your post with the outcome of that offer, if it worked for you. This will help buyers of CAmry 2006 LE deal better with auto dealers before toyota offer expires. Thanks,

Elgin Toyota of Chicago offered $17695 for brand new 06 LE Camry. I had to pay tax(6% for Indiana resident), $57.33 doc fee, and that damn $15 cook county sales tax. I am picking it up tomorrow. any comments?

Here' show my tax is calculated:= $18595 selling price of 06 Camry LE brand new $57.33 Doc fee $18652.33 total of price plus doc fee $1119.14 6% tax on the $18652.33 $10 drive away cert for out of state purchse $15 cook county tax(? i am confused on this one!!) -$1000 Camry rebate $18796.47 my OTD price Let me know what you guy think!! The rebate is separate from the dealers taxable sale. All rebates in IL are handled that way. The MFG is responsible for paying the rebate. Was this for an auto LE, any options like CF? The taxes are o.k. too. Never heard (never used) of $10 drive away cert but looks legit. At least your tax is calculated where you live so you save a little there compared to most. The rebates also vary by region. $1000 unfortunately is correct. Dealers would be stupid these days to try and pull something with rebates, at least with most buyers.

In Georgia and have the following offer: 2007 LE Camry V6 with: Vehicle Stability Control w/ Traction Control (VSC) 16" Alloy Wheels ($410 list not the higher ones) Looking at $22,309 + $279 doc fees and TTL Sticker was $24,758 including dealer prep with no doc fees or TTL I'm in SET territory and they hit you up for $634 in blood money. My OTD is $24,197.16. Between SET and 7% sales tax I feel like I've been you know what without even being kissed!! What's the verdict, should I pull the trigger? Thanx, Ty |

So, the rebates are set off before calculation of tax. I dont think this should be regional but am not sure. |

And I must warn against going to FW Toyota to buy. they are real low high pressured dealers. they claimed they can match any price in chicago and when I show them, they would not.!!! BTW, what is CF option? I check the official toyota.com and could not find this option. mine is just plain jane LE auto, 4 mats included.
