I live in Oklahoma, about 85 miles from Tulsa, and 30 miles from a Toyota dealer in Joplin, MO and 50-75 miles from two dealers in Kansas. Have been looking to possibly buy an LE with side curtain air bags and 5 pc carpet set and upgraded radio (AMFM wcassette/CD)-pretty minimal options. No firm prices from OK dealers-no cars in Oklahoma with color desired-Kansas dealer quoted $19,925 (1st and only telephone call) for desired color in stock, Missouri dealer quoted same car for $19,499 OTD (also telephone call (although they have serviced old Camry for 16 yrs.)-they would have had to get it from that Kansas dealer. No trade-in of old car to either dealer. Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri until 8-1-05 has incentive on Camry of $1250. for Oklahoma and $750 in both Kansas and Missouri in lieu of special finance %.. Will probably wait now until next month to see if incentive is extended or modified. It seems by reading other posts in this forum, that prices are high here compared to some other states. Camry's seem to be bringing a high selling price vs MSRP even with incentives considered. May just have to look at Honda Accord instead.

Dealer asking $23,171 (plus tax 6.5% and title $315 for a total out the door at $24,992) for XLE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5A) with HV XLE Premium Plus Package (ie., leather, moonroof, al. wheels), GY Side and Curtain Airbags, HD Heated Front Seats, and Carpet/Cargo Mat Set.

Think it is a fair deal for Internet Price? Any additional negotiations possible?

Want to buy a 2005 Camry LE with AT and side airbags in around one month. Could anyone tell me the lowest Outdoor price in Central Ohio, which dealer? In addition, since Camry 2006 is coming, Is it good to buy camry now, or just wait for another month?. Thanks. First time new car buyer, appreciate your help.

In addition, just got info about used Buick 2005 with 25-30K miles. Dealer told me the price is 12,800. Is it a good choice? Why such new used car be sold again? Thanks for your advice.

The salesman is clearly trying to cheat you. Any salesman would know that the Standard and LE are 2 different models.

It would be useful to check out the Toyota brochures carefully.

I would say that it is a very fair price. It is approx. $300 over invoice. I assume the price INCLUDES the rebate?

I have also got some quotes as low as 17900.00.
Also what can I do to verify that these quotes are legitimate.
Would I need to get a stock# or Vin# from them or other#?
Thanks for any help as we are trying to buy by this weekend.
Also I'm in the Los Angels County area.

Thanks fredvh. The dealer said it is $12 below invoice. Yes, the price includes the $700 rebate.

2005 Camry SE by spenser9r

I am trying to negotiate the purchase of a 2005 Camry SE; having a heck of a time getting the first choice dealership to respond to emails. Have been on the lot twice, test driven LE and SE models. Been to another lot, didn't like their tactic of calling me on Saturday with a "today only" deal. Needs are basic: I like the SE because of the different look...black grill, smoke headlight lenses, sportier looking interior (doesn't quite match up with the Altima interior, though). I like that the SE comes standard with the sunroof. I would like to add leather, but dealer so far has stalled at $900 to add it, although the salesman "thought" he "might" be able to get it for $600. Any thoughts or ideas? Any knowledge of who to check with for after market interior (dealer says they don't get the after market leather from Toyota, they use a local supplier/vendor). I am in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area of Florida. Is $600 a pipe dream and $900 more realistic? Would appreciate any feedback. Also, what are chances of getting the $499 dealer fee credited?
