Does this sound like a good quote. I was thinking I could do better even with all the dealer fees included. What do you all think? |

The lowest I could get a Maryland dealer was $18,500 for a camry LE with AT, side airbags and mats/cargo net. That car had an MSRP of $21,550 and both prices include a freight charge of $540. It did not include state tax (5%) and license fee of $33. Maryland has no cash rebate at this time. The SE United States including North and South Carolina has a $1500 rebate in effect until August 1, 2005. So about $17,000 would be an equilavent (and a good) deal in the carolinas. I'm waiting to see what happens after August 1. Depending on how many camry's they have left will determine if Maryland will give a rebate for the month of August. The dealers probably already know but I can't get any of them to come clean. If Maryland continues to have no rebate and the SE continues to have $1500, I just might travel down to NC to save $1500.

We came down to a dealership tonight. Right after we got there, we told the salesman that we want to buy a Camry LE tonight if price and color are right. He showed us the car and my husband also test drove it. It was our fault that we did not look at the back of the car carefully. That car actually did not have a LE label in the back. We almost signed an agreement for $16,950 until I realized that the MSRP was different from the other LE car we looked. The salesman told us that Camry Standard is also called LE. Is this true or not? We got another offer from a different dealership for $17,000 for a Camry LE. Is this a good offer or not? They initially agreed $16,900 but backed out their offer after they noticed that we were serious buyer. I don't care about $100 that much, but feels bad that we have to pay higher than they initially offered us. Is there any strategy that we can use? Thanks for the suggestions!

Replying to: anotherday (Jun 27, 2005 2:08 pm) HI, Anotherday, Is it possible for you to send me a copy of your sales contract (of course with your peronsal info removed?) One dealer told me your price is impossible and he can beat that price by 100 if I have the sales contract showing that price. I am looking to buy a Camry LE AT this week. I'd appreciate your help if you do. I am in southern Cal as well. Ginger
