Replying to: tuffy (Apr 28, 2005 9:50 am) It's not a bad price, but I should have done better to get Ourisman to lower their $279 fee. Before I came in, my plan was to get them to match Darcars' $100 fee, but blah, it was my first new car negotiation so I was too soft ... a learning experience. ======= Has anyone from the DC area tried to get internet quotes from Koons? How was your experience? Obviously I asked for a quote on the Camry XLE, but the salesperson gave an off the mark reply "we sell Camry for as low as $16995", and promoted Koons $4000 off from MSRP. He actually called me up as well, and beat around the bush some more, but no actual number was ever given. I wasnt going to waste my time on the phone again with that guy, so I sent him an email, telling him that even with the "up to $4000 off MSRP", Koons' price was still much higher than the ~$20,600 I can get from 3 different dealers, and that I dont even qualify the full $4000 since I am no longer a new grad .... and then asked what can he do for me? The first sentence of his reply was: "We have a big sale right now, $4000 off MSRP for any Camry, and $1000 lowest price guarantee". His second and final sentence was "I need your business, please come in to Koons and see what I can do for you." It's like communicating with some mindless zombie. All the other salespersons were great, so I guess it was my luck to get a soon-to-be-fired trainee to see the other side of things. |
