Is it possible to get a Toyota Camry XLE without a moonroof? The Toyota website does not list the XLE having a moonroof as standard equipment, however, every XLE I have ever seen always has a moonroof.

They then quoted me a silly price for airbags ($18,200) and i gave them a counter offer of $17,600 which they immediately accepted. It was Dublin dealership and they had loads of camry's on their lot so maybe they need to shift them for the 06 model coming out in the fall. i got the quote via the internet. They didn't try and sell me a whole load of additionals and for the bay area think i got a fair deal. Walnut creek was the second closest but wouldn't match Dublin and thus fell short by some 300 bucks. Hope that helps |

WIthout looking at the documentation i don't have the precise figures but from what i recall it was standard fees/tax (i was also cautious of being screwed with hidden BS fees). $17,600 (after rebate and inc destination) for the LE with airbags. around $1600 sales Tax, $45 doc fee, and licence fee. OTD price was somewhere around 19,400. Certainly you're right about some dealers bumping up the OTD price. One dealership quoted me a great price, saying that they didn't charge for destination. When i asked what the OTD price was it suddenly leaped up with advertising/processing etc. That said, many of them didn't seem to have a problem with giving me a breakdown of the OTD price over the phone and seemed fairly standard. I think they know consumers are more savvy due to the internet etc. Where they look to screw you inadvertently is with the APR being offered IMO. Just my 002 cents |

It seemed to have more standards than the camry, the interior looked more modern, it looked more sportier (well as sporty as a family sedan can ever get) etc etc. But i test drove both and liked the feel of the Camry much more. It's a smooth, quiet drive but it still has pop. It's bigger inside than the Accord (i have a 14 mth son so we were very much looking for a bigger family car but didn't want to go down the SUV road) and just seems more substantial in it's feel. I also have an old 98 Corolla and (touch wood) never had a problem with it so i'm probably biased a little towards Toyota's anyway. To be honest, i don't think there's an awful lot in it and it comes down to personal preference/your needs. Some will no doubt disagree with me there, but that's how i see it. I would definetly say to you - test drive both - if you haven't already, because there is a difference in the feel. All i can say, is that i don't have regrets about purchasing the Camry one iota and despite it's reputation as a boring car i love driving it. I just wish Toyota would get their act together with putting in standards like airbags, security etc. Maybe the 06 model will do but for now we have great cars and lousy dealers. |

| Thanks Supernova for the information. I am familiar with both dealerships and they are close to me. Good luck with the Camry that seems to be a very good price especially in the Bay Area. | |

Replying to: big_boy (Mar 17, 2005 1:45 pm) Wow! That's a very good price for an LE out the door. I am in Tucson, AZ. For this price, you may not even get a Camry Std. I wish I could go to Houston. |

Replying to: 7435 (Mar 19, 2005 5:14 am) 17,477. Out of door, $19218. in south bay, ca. If you can get between $17100-17300, that is the best deal you can get. $17500 is still a very good deal. I heard some of my friend get somewhere at 17700 - 17900 at different times. I got it last month.
