Whereabouts are you based to get a 1250 rebate on the Camry?   i think we're going to go for the Camry simply because we prefer the car. We've now been quoted $17,880 (after 750 rebate) for a LE with airbags and the usual floor/trunk mats thrown in. Does this sound over the odds or about right for a Camry LE in this current market? Invoice on Camry's seem to vary i find depending on the website you consult.   I've also been quoted $698 for LoJack, which seems very high. Replying to: supernova1994 (Mar 02, 2005 2:16 pm) Camry invoice pricing can vary by region, which might explain some of the variability in the consulting of websites.   Alook- the 6 CD changer is standard on the Avalon XLS, and the top model, the Limited has the JBL Synthesis system. Cars at half the prices have it.   I can see market prices and destination charges varying by region, but invoicing for same vehicle coming from same factory? Doesn't happen with other brands.   I have never been able to have Toyota dealer show us the actual factory invoice, just an internal fakey document. His "invoice" on the Camry LE w/ side air bag+curtain option plus distributor installed package of alloyed wheels, upgrade alarm, pinstripes, cargo net and all that protection gimmick was $21,118. Not possible! Its closer to 20k! Take factory MSRP X 90% and you will be fairly close to his invoice.   I am still looking for Camry LE with VSC as Toyota website indicates is possible. Anyone get VSC on Camry LE?

Southeast Toyota Distributors, Inc. is an independent, family-owned company that buys cars from Toyota and sells them to the Toyota dealers in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina. They set their own invoice prices for the cars, which are sometimes different from Toyota's national prices, especially for delivery and options. They also set the consumer rebate amount for the southeast region. There is a similar arrangement in the Gulf Coast region. Kelly Blue Book (www.kbb.com) attempts to show these different regional invoice prices, although they are not always correct.

Replying to: snoydedmunds (Feb 28, 2005 4:37 pm) Just last night I bought & drove home my Camry XLE V6 withe VSC and Side & Curtain Airbags, and Toyoguard plus (which by the way is a waste of money but it was already on the car). The VCS & Side and Curtain Airbags are about $1000 invoice. The Toyogaurd is $699 MSRP and they say they have no "play" with that figure so I don't know what invoice was - maybe 400 +/-(?). I paid right under $25,000 before taxes & before finance charges. I'm financing only $20,000 for 60 month at 2.9 (which by the way they don't offer on the XLE - only the LE - but they dealer can "buy down" the rate) and the interest I will have paid at the end of 5 years is about $1500. So all in - at the end of the 5 year loan, I will have paid about $28,000. I think it's a good deal considering the Camry XLE V6 has more bells & whistles and luxury extras than my husbands Lexus ES 300 - which cost substantially more. Good luck!!! Went the dealer, test drove the car and sat down and talk with three different persons, from salesman to fleet manager. Work out the number and got it down to $359 per month at 3.99% with $5,000 down payment. If you do the math, that comes out to be around $26,500. Before I went in, I figure after adding sale tax, finance charges and other fees, the total price I would pay for the car would be around 25K. I thought 26K was a little too high for a 4-cylinder XLE, so I ended up walking out.   I remember seeing finance charges was around $2,500. Does anybody know how finance charges are calculated over 5 years period? I don't how it came out to be over 2K, if the rate is at 3.9%.

It looks like cash rebates ended 2/28 in my (Chicago) area. Do the rebates only start at the beginning of a month, or could they start anytime i.e. would it be April 1 at the earliest for new rebates? Thanks. It shows it's good from 3/1 to 4/4.   One other question: besides going to a dealer at the end of a month, does it matter if you go at the end of a quarter (i.e. March 31?).
