After pursuing a Camry on the Internet we received an acceptable quote from Precision Toyota in Tampa, Florida. Camry Standard Automatic for $16,759 before tax and license. My daughter confirmed the price and the day we would purchase the car. We brought the email confirmation with us. After driving the car we were presented paperwork substantially higher than the all in price we had confirmed. After multiple iterations, we were informed that the rebate had decreased by $250 and they would not honor the price. Our confirmation was dated 8:49 pm the day the rebate decreased. They repeatedly agreed that they should not have confirmed that price but were unwilling to honor it as they would not make enough money. After meeting with all levels of management the best they would do would be to give back $100 of the extra $250. Well, so much for my daughter's first car buying experience.

My wife and I are in the market for a Camry, perhaps an XLE model. Just wondering what's the price range I should look for. I have been getting internet quote from serveral dealers. Quotes with the XLE premium plus package and curtain side airbag are around $26,000 from most dealers in the bay area (with all sale tax, fee, and finance charge). Is this a reasonable deal? We have excellent credit and qualify for the low interest rate. We are thinking of putting $5,000 down payment and pay around $350 a month for 60 month. If you do the math, that come out to be around 26k. 26K total price for a Camry XLE with premium plus package and curtain side airbag, is this a good deal. Please help, thanks.

Before taxes and warranty, the price was 22,350. I put 5000 dollars as down payment and after financing for 6 years with 3.9% APR, the price came out to be a little more than 28,100 for the car. |
