Could you tell me where did you get the price of $15977 for a Camry STD Auto? I got an offer from L.A. today. It's 17188 before 750 rebate. Thanks a lot.

Mercedes, Toyota Boost Prices on 2005 Models
Posted 2/8/05 9:52 a.m. CST

By AutoWeek

Mercedes-Benz USA LLC has announced a midmodel-year price increase of 0.7 percent.

The high spot in a round of price increases at Mercedes-Benz was a $3,100 boost in the sticker price of the SL65 AMG coupe.

Nineteen of the brand's 44 sedans, coupes, convertibles and SUVs were affected. Automotive News estimates that the boost averaged about $400.

The increases affected six of Mercedes' nine vehicle classes. Models in the best-selling C class, the S class and M class (SUV) were not raised. Those three lines account for 52 percent of Mercedes-Benz sales.

Most of the bumps ranged from $750 to $1,500. The high spot was a $3,100 boost in the sticker price of the SL65 AMG coupe.

Also raising prices was Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc., which upped prices an average of $142, or 0.6 percent, on all three Scion models and a dozen Toyota brand nameplates. The Scions went up $50 apiece.

Toyota increases were: $100 on the Echo, Corolla and Camry Solara cars, Matrix wagon, Tundra pickup and Sequoia SUV; $150 on the Camry sedan; $200 on the Sienna minivan and RAV4 and Highlander SUVs; and $300 on the 4Runner and Land Cruiser SUVs.

SE with V6 is uncommon---there are only 45 listed on buyatoyota for the southeast. It is unlikely that someone who reads this forum will have bought one recently in Atlanta. Find an SE V6 that you like on the buyatoyota site, preferably one that has not yet been delivered to any dealer (available in March) and get drive-out quotes for that VIN from several Atlanta dealers, including Team and Stone Mountain. That is what I did for an LE V6 and it worked very well. I mention Team and Stone Mountain because they were my two lowest bidders. Get the quotes through the dealers' internet sites; the internet departments are separate from the main dealership and can give lower quotes because the sales commissions are lower.

bought a LE, 4V, automatic with airbags and floor mats for just under 18k (after $1500 rebate).

great experience. gave take-or-leave price to the Vandergriff Toyota (Arlington) internet e-mail. accepted almost immediately. guy i dealt with (which apparently can't name here per policy) was very professional, ethical and friendly. paid cash, and was done in less than 90 minutes total, with no problems whatsoever.

if your in DFW, would recommend giving them a try, as there were NO surprises and they seem to embrace doing deals via interenet.

My Question For You Is What if toyota did put side airbags on the camry as standard then the pricing of the vehicle would have to rise as well as that everyone now is paying so much less that would just mean less profit for the dealerships as well as less oportunities for sales people to make money that is the thing that most consumers do not realize is that most car salesman are paid on commision if you pay invoice for the car the salesman waisted all of his time for a minimall bottom pay for commision of mabey 100 dollars if hes lucky. Ohh and by the way side curtain airbags are standard now on the xle v6 just thought you might want to know.

thanks The Salesman
